Emma's P.O.V.

Ava had dragged me out to come shopping with her and we were in starbucks when Ava's phone started ringing. She talked to the caller for a bit and then she put the phone down looking slightly shocked. "Who was it?" I asked. "K-Kyle." she replied. "Oh, what did he ring you for? Another wild party at the weekend?" I asked casually, this was the usual thing Kyle would ring people for. "Not exactly, he asked me out, like on a date." she replied. "Aw that's great Ava!" I exclaimed. Her facial expression changed from shock to excitement when she came to terms with it. She sooo had a crush on him since that halloween party. "I-I know!" she squealed, nearly jumping out of her seat and squeezing my hands. But then I thought, last week Kyle supposedly like me? Oh well, he's obviously moved on quickly. This was very relieving, considering the situation, but he better not just be leading her on, I don't want to see her get hurt. She's had enough shit happen to her when it comes to boys over the past few years. I tried to forget about it and shared the excitement with her. We finished our drinks and then she stood up and held out her hand. "Come on, I need to go get an outfit for my date with Kyle!" she exclaimed, blushing at the fact he'd asked her out. You wouldn't think she was 23, would you?

Ava's P.O.V.

I got back home to my tiny flat and sunk into the sofa. For once I was completely shopped out and I don't think that had EVER happened before. But, it doesn't matter, because Kyle had asked me out, and I was very very very excited. Ahhh. I watched some films and went on my fashion blog on tumblr. I looked at the clock to realise it was nearly 3 am. I decided to go to bed, so I changed into my pyjamas and went to the bathroom to take all my makeup off. Many people had stereotyped me as being some girly idiot, which I don't blame them for.I loved fashion, but all this makeup was kind of a cover up, it makes me feel pretty again. As I wiped off the foundation, I saw the bruises, and all the memories just suddenly came flooding back.

The door slammed and I woke up with a fright. I tried to be silent and pretend I was asleep, maybe he wouldn't  hurt me. I pulled the duvet covers close to me as he stormed in to the bedroom. 'It's ok, Ava, it's ok.' I said to myself, but I couldn't calm down. I luckily stayed silent. Urgh, he reeked of alcohol. "Move up, you stupid girl, I can't get in the bed!" he shouted, pushing me off the bed. "S-Sorry." I stuttered, shivering. "I'll g-go and s-sleep on the c-couch." He groaned and pushed me against the wall. "No, you'll go and sleep on the couch after I've given you the beating you deserve!" he spat in my face. He let go of me and I fell to the floor as he kicked me in the stomach several times and punched me in the face. This is it, I'm going to die, I thought. After I thought he'd finished he screamed at me, "Now get downstairs, you idiot!" I tried with all my might, but I couldn't get up. It was too painful. "See what I have to do for you, you're such an idiot, you can't even walk!"  he yelled and dragged me into the living room and threw me on the couch. He stormed back to the bedroom and I think he finally fell asleep. I burst into tears. I couldn't do this anymore, it's never going to end. I heard a loud knock on the door and a man shout from outside, "Hello, it's the police. Open the door, we've had a report of abuse." I longed to get to the door, but I couldn't. Luckily, Mike woke up and opened the door. "What do you want now?" he groaned at the policeman. "We've had a report of abuse from yoour neighbours. You're going to have to come with us." the policeman said as another handcuffed him and took him outside into the police car. The policeman came in to the living room and sat down next to me. "Hello Ava, a neighbour called saying she heard shouting and suspected you were being abused. Clearly you have been." he said, gesturing to my face. "Y-Y-Y-Yes" I stuttered, tears in my eyes. "Everything's going to be ok, Ava, Mike has been arrested and I'm going to call an ambulance to make sure you're ok." the policeman said. A kind voice. I hadn't heard the in a long time. The ambulance came and I was rushed onto a stretcher. I then blacked out.

I woke up on the bathroom floor to the sun shining through the window. I must have fell cried myself to sleep. I got ready and went round to Emma's. I couldn't be there for now, everywhere I went in that flat reminded me of a different night of beatings.
