Kyle's P.O.V.

I'd got myself all dressed up for this date, my mum said apparently I should because it's the first time I'd gone on a proper date other than just taking the girl to a random party my mates were holding. I was wearing a white shirt and oh my god I found these cufflinks with cats on them, they are awesome. I was then wearing a suit, I hope I didn't look to formal. When I went round to Emma's to pick up Ava, I hoped I wouldn't have to go in and talk to Emma because I'd find it really awkward as Dan had probably told Emma. I think there's still a part of me that likes Emma, but no no no I can't. Hopefully this date will help me to move on. I beeped the horn loads, making a little tune till an old man came out of his house and stuck his middle finger up at me. I thought old people were kind and meant to give you cookies? Obviously times have changed... Just then, Ava walked out and I knew I wasn't going to have much trouble moving on from Emma. She looked so different, but she looked amazing. I mean, she was pretty before,  but now she looked so beautiful without loads of makeup and her hair down. I got out and greeted her with a hug then opened the car door for her as she got in. I'd decided I was going to be a gentleman for once. I started to drive and she asked, "So, where are we going?" I think she was trying not to have a massive grin on her face, she must have been really excited for this. "Well, I'm not sure, I'm not really used to 'proper' dates, but I think there's a nice restaurant down the road from my house?" I suggested. "Yeah, lets go there!" she said. I put the radio on and it was playing 'UK top 40'. I didn't like any of these songs so I asked Ava, "Do you have any better songs on your phone?" She got out her phone and started scrolling through her music library. "Well, I think it's better than this, I don't know about you?" she said playing a song and showing me the screen. It was 'The Wire' by HAIM. One of my favourite bands. "I didn't think you liked bands like this?" I said. "Well, yeah, I suppose it would be easy to stereotype me, but I like this music, it used to calm me down when..." she trailed off, and seemed to go into deep thought, she seemed frightened of whatever she was thinking about. Worried, I placed my hand on her lap and asked, "Are you ok, Ava?" she flinched away from me and I jumped back shocked. Shit, I haven't hurt her have I? I only put my hand on her lap...

Ava's P.O.V.

No, no, no, Ava you've gone and ruined it again. He wasn't going to hurt you, he was seeing if you were alright, I thought. "I'm s-sorry." Kyle stuttered. "Are you ok?" he asked, rubbing the back of his neck. "Yeah, I'm fine. Don't say sorry, you didn't do anything wrong." I replied. "It's just my last boyfriend was really, abusive, and the memories from it come back a lot." He didn't say anything, he just looked at me with a pitiful look. I think his eyes were watering. "I understand if you want to turn back now, it's ok." I said. He'd never want to go out with me, or like me, if he ever even did. "N-no, I just can't believe someone would hurt you, you're so lovely and b-beautiful." he said. "But I want you to know I would never hurt you, and I'd like you to give me the chance to show you that." I was shocked, why would he want to still go out with me? "Ok, thank you Kyle." I said, wiping away a tear. "Right, let's got get some pizza sandwiches!" he said perking up, obviously trying to brighten the mood. "What are they?" I giggled. "Well, you'll have to wait and see!" he said, grinning.
