Ashleigh's POV:
Five years is a long time. It's even longer without the love of your life beside you. I hear the name "Luke Bryan", all the time these days. He's hitting it big time. About a year after he left, he went on his first tour. He's come out with two albums so far, one on the way, and last I heard, he's still living in Nashville. I know for sure he ain't living in that little apartment no more.Me? my pet clinic was just moved to Nashville. They moved the office. The owner died, and he left the place to me. I moved to Nashville about six weeks ago. I don't have any friends yet, besides Savannah. She moved down here three years ago. She's still Kelsea's manager, Kelsea is pretty famous these days, too. I'm proud of them both. I live in a medium sized house in a little neighborhood, Savannah lives in some big ass house in some big ass neighborhood where all the other wealthier people live.
I heard Luke came out with a new single, but I haven't heard it yet. It makes me so happy that he's finally living his dream like he's always wanted to. I was driving to the grocery store and I turned on the radio. I heard the announcer say this was Luke's newest single. "Goodbye Girl". The sweet melody started to play through the speakers and I realized this song was about me. I broke Luke's heart. I pulled over on the side of the road as tears filled my eyes. I pulled out my phone and tried to find Luke's agent. Kerri Edwards. I found her office and drove to it as quickly as possible.
I pulled up to a huge building and went up to the floor it told me, then to the room. I walked it to see and beautiful woman with long brown hair. She looked a little older than me, but she's still pretty. "Excuse me." I said politely as she turned and looked at me. "I know this sounds insane, but, Luke Bryan, I know him." I said and realized I sound like an idiot.
"What's your name?" She asked. "Ashleigh Sennett." I answered. She smirked. "Luke has told all of us lots about you. He's still in love with you sweetheart. You need to go get him. He won't date anyone, and if he tries, it never works because they aren't you." She said. I smiled and she gave me his address. I thanked her and hugged her. When I got down to my truck, excitement and emotion filled my head. I started to cry. I didn't know I'd hurt him this... bad.
I followed the directions to Luke's house and pulled up to a stunning mansion. It had a big gate and the house was made out of beautiful brick. They let me in through the gate and I slowly walked to the front door. What if he doesn't want to see me? What if he's not home? I ignored all of my terrible thoughts and rang the doorbell. It's now or never. After a few minutes, I heard a mans voice come to the door. He opened it and our eyes met. "Ashleigh?" A tall, tan, handsome man stuttered. I nodded as tears filled my eyes once again. This was the day Luke was always talking about. About how we would find a way to get back together. He was right.
I wrapped my arms around his neck and he kissed my head. I pulled away and he lead me inside. "Ashleigh, what are you doing here?" He said and shut the door. I was speechless. This house is even better on the inside. It had marble tables and a big staircase and a balcony at the top. It was gorgeous. "Um." Luke stuttered and I fell out of my day dream. "Oh, sorry, this house is just so pretty." I said. He chuckled and my heart nearly stopped. It was still the same laugh he had five years ago. I'm falling in love all over again- well I don't think I ever fell out of love with him.
"Luke, I was on my way to the store, and I heard your new single play on the radio. Goodbye Girl, is that, about me?" I asked quietly.
"Uh, yeah, I wrote that on the night I drove down here from Georgia." He said. I smiled. "I assumed it was, and I had to see you, so here we are." I said. He slowly leaned closer to me and my heart started to beat faster. I leaned closer to his face and our lips met. It was like a big, wonderful dream. I knew it was real though. After a few moments, I slowly pulled away. He still gave me the same feeling in my stomach I got five years ago.
"Did you come all the way down here for this?" Luke asked. "No, I live here now. They moved my pet clinic here, the owner died, and now I own it." I said. "Thats great!" Luke said. I blushed and nodded. He ran his thumb over my cheek. "Ash, I'm still madly in love with you, even after all these years." He whispered. "Me too." I said. We kissed again and the night just went down hill from there.
We made love more passionately than ever before. I missed this so much. I missed Luke. I don't know yet what else is in store for us. I hope it's great though. Maybe now we can start back up what we had in the past. Maybe this time it will last forever. Who knows, all I know is I'm in love with Luke.
