Ashleigh's POV:
I woke up with a slight headache. I sat up and rested on my elbow. Luke was still sound asleep next to me. I watched his lips move slightly. He's so gorgeous. Actually, gorgeous is an understatement. I don't know how to describe him.

The sun was rising and you could see Luke's tan skin perfectly just above the blankets. I slowly leaned close to his face and connected my lips with his. After a few seconds he softly kissed back. I pulled away and his eyes fluttered open.

I smiled as he sat up and looked around. He turned to me and cocked his head. I giggled at his messy brown hair. It was all over the place. "You know, I like it when you wake me up like that." He said and smirked. His white teeth peaked through his lips and I leaned closer to him. I was inches away from his face before he pulled me closer by my waist and connected our lips once again.

After a little while, Luke pulled away, leaving me wanting more. He trailed his hand back up from my hips and rested he index finger under my chin. He kissed me one last time and we got up. I remembered that we were in the bed of a truck and laughed at the fact we actually slept here.

well it wouldn't be the first time.

Luke helped me down from the tailgate and we got in the truck to drive home. Once we got there, we grabbed our clothes from last night and rushed inside. Thankfully, nobody saw us, as I was wearing nothing but Luke's shirt and he was just wearing his jeans.

We hurried into Luke's old room and shut the door behind us. We changed out of the little we had on and took a quick shower. We were laying down in his bed watching tv when there was a knock at the door. "Come in." Luke said loudly and wrapped his arm around my waist under the grey comforter. Within a few seconds, his mother was standing in the doorway questioning where we were last night.

"We were at a friends house." Luke responded. "How come y'all never came home last night?" She asked and crossed her arms. I could tell all of these questions were directed at Luke, not me. "We decided it was too late to drive home, so we stayed the night. No big deal." Luke answered reassuringly. I nodded. She seemed like she believed him. "Alright, just checking." She said after a few moments. She walked out and shut the door behind her.

"That was close." Luke said and rolled over to face me. He smiled and pulled me close to him. I cuddled up to his chest and he rubbed my back underneath my shirt. After a minute or two, I felt myself drift off to sleep as Luke began softly singing a song I'd never heard before, but still, the words sounded oddly familiar.

"Through the clear and the muddy, through the thick and thin, the quiet nights, the howling wind," he continued and held me tighter. "through the good and the ugly, the blue and the black, to the ends of the earth, to the moon and back." He thinks I'm asleep. He sang just quiet enough that I could hear. His soft voice made me more sleepy. Did he wright this? I've never heard him sing this before.

I tried to stay awake to hear the rest of the song, but the last thing I heard was "until our song is over, till the stars all fade to black."

Luke's POV:
After Ashleigh fell asleep, I felt the urge to sing the new song I wrote a little while after we got back together. Our past was a big inspiration for it. I sang quietly and thought about how I'm gonna sing it at my show tonight.

About two hours later, Ashleigh and I both woke up and decided it was time to get ready for tonight. Once we were dressed, be went out to the bar. I was wearing my normal clothes, boots, jeans, v-neck. The usual. Ashleigh was wearing cutoff shorts with her boots and a loose maroon tank top and a white knitted cardigan with holes in it that went to the back of her knees on over it. She looked gorgeous. As always.
