Chapter 4: Found

     Your eye's were wide as they slowly began to water, the large hand enveloping your own gave a comforting squeeze before it tugged your hand back spinning you into a larger body. Before you could even react, his other hand went to your waist enveloping you in the embrace you've longed for, for what felt like year's.

    Unable to speak as tear's leaked out of your eye's "y-your...M-Maui...your...y-your here..." you stuttered and you paused as he brought his hand up to your cheek with a warm caress as he looked into your eye's.

    This was real...it's real. You sniffled with a breathy chuckle as you leaned into his touch "I'm here" Maui whispered gently leaning down.

   You looked up at him and sighed in contempt closing your eye's as his forehead came to your own. As your forehead's touched you could feel the broken connection you and Maui had realign and link perfectly. Just like before.

   Maui finally spoke "I've been searching for you...ever since the link was destroyed..." he stopped himself and you knew he felt the same pain you did about that particular situation "i-i...i couldn't find you" he said his grip on your lower back tightening possessively as his voice cracked.

  You opened your eye's to look up at him once more and smiled seeing he hadn't changed a bit before you leaned into him "it's okay." you said softly before parting slightly to look him in the eye brushing strands of hair from his face "at least we've found each other now" you said warmly a smile making its way to your lips.

   Maui beamed down at you before leaning down and taking you into his arm's swiftly with ease, you gasped on instinct wrapping your arm's around his neck.

  Maui laughed "still scared of heights?" he teased with his signature eyebrow raise.

You huffed and stuck your tongue at him "Still cocky?"

Maui shrugged "at least I've got reason to be" he answered.

You scoffed at him and crossed your arm's but, decided against it wrapping your arm's right back around his neck before you fell "hey! What's that supposed to mean?!"

  Maui grinned down at you avoiding your question as you felt your face heat up before, he began walking farther into the room "you know we've got a lot of catching up to do" he said with a growing smirk.

You bit your lip holding back a giggle as he slowly began laying you both down on the woven mats that didn't bite at you skin like pricks like your own did. Maui smirked down at you before it faded and he leaned down "i wasn't there for you (y/n) but..." he grabbed your hand in his bringing it to his chest "i swear on my immortal beating heart that i'll never leave you alone again...unless you don't want me around which would obviously be unthinkable" Maui smirked cockily and you rolled your eye's giggling.

  Maui then smiled once more before leaning down his lips no more then an inch from your own, his breath mingling with your own. his arm circled your waist pulling you into him and you gasped before his lips met yours passionately. Maui sucked in a deep breath as his eye's closed and his grip on your waist tightened, you were overcome by a mixture of emotion's just from his touch and it made you swoon.

Your eye's slipped closed before you wrapped your arm's around his neck running your hand's through his silky hair that he loved oh so dearly but, at the moment he definitely didn't seem to mind. You leaned into him as you both parted for air briefly taking a moment to relish in one another's presence before, you leaned in this time your lips brushing his.

The aching feeling in the pit of your stomach was suddenly gone, your smile's were becoming less forced, and you finally felt like you could go hours maybe even day's without the constant rejuvenation of the sun on your skin. You looked up at the great, powerful demigod of the wind and sea dazed and you suddenly felt like you could do anything...BE anything. As long as he was by your side.

You never noticed how empty you had felt all this time, until you looked into Maui big, boastful, brown eye's once more after so long.

You beamed up at him as he did so as well his eye's confessing to you all the thing's he's gone through without you. The pain, the desperation, the hurt, even the guilt. But, you could see the overwhelming amount of passion, respect, devotion, and loyalty he had for you. but, what stood out so much more you noticed as Maui began to close his eye's the moment your lips brushed together once more was the...Love he had for you that echoed so strongly in your heart.

That's when you closed your eye's and Maui took over caressing your cheeks softly as you leaned in basking in his desire to be near you. To be with you. To be...

"MAUI!" a shout was heard from outside the tent before the same lady from before burst in her clothes disheveled and her hair a mess. she was panting violently and she was shaking as if she just ran a marathon, you wouldn't be surprised if she did judging by her appearance.

You and Maui broke our moment of passion fixing ourselves up and one look from him told you that 'we would finish this later' .You shivered in delight at the thought before Maui took your had helping you to your feet before turning to the hectic woman "calm down Aleka. What happened? what did you see?" Maui asked seriously and you came to his side. Aleka gasped for breath before wheezing out "K-kanaloa. Has awoken once more".

You and Maui gasped in shock before glancing at one another and Maui looked back at Akela with a more serious look "How do you know this?"

 Akela reached behind her back pulling out something from the loose pocket bag on her " this was found by the waves of our ocean" she said bowing her head and lifting the object.

You covered your mouth in horror as Maui's eye's widened considerably before growling "it's already starting" he said lowly.

   You looked back up at Maui tearing your eye's away from the sight "what's starting?" you asked afraid of the answer.

Maui looked down at you "if he isn't stopped. It seems that he'll destroy the ocean...and everything in it. And i don't think we have much time".

Your eye's widened again and you gaped "oh god".

Maui pulled you to him holding you tight as you stood in shock "it's gonna be ok. its gonna be alright" he soothed.

Akela bowed lowly as she turned to leave, the light caught the object in her hand which was the figure of a decaying fish that was still dripping with water fresh from the ocean itself.
