Chapter 10: The battle begins

The plan was set as the battle was going to begin. Alina was afraid but when she looked at the others, she had to show confidence. Katelyn looked worried for the time being. Something was strange; every time Alina came close she would hiss at her. She didn't have any time to worry about Katelyn right now as there will be a bloodshed soon. She needed to focus on the battle soon to begin. She looked at Loki and smiled. She was happy that he was back but now every time she came in contact with him a sharp pain will go through her head. The sound of a horn went off as the battle commenced. They had to face the danger of this battle no matter what to save everyone on the island. As they walked they heard something come by. They hid themselves and tried to see the enemy first. Alina thought through what the prince said to her.

"whatever you do please don't kill my people. They are innocent but they were influenced by my father's cruelty." A Flashback when the prince said those words.

Alina told everyone else to be careful on who they're up against. She told everyone specifically to only make the men unconscious not kill them. Then a sudden ticking sound was going off. It exploded; they were then suddenly attacked by the men. Alina and everyone else came out. She has an angered face on. The battlefield looked like gloomy as there was also shadow reapers and rain came pouring in. Meliora was there laughing but also amused.

"you stupid idiots, protect your king! She aiming for your KING!" Meliora yelled.

All of them turn their heads to their king and ran to him. None of them could be as fast as Alina and she ran like lightning. She was there about to kill his majesty but before he crept a smirk. Meliora looked and used her gravitational spell to pull Alina to the ground. She looked for Loki. Loki was ready to attack when she stabbed Loki in the back. He fell to the ground. Alina was devastated to such a scene. She cried to be free from this prison. Meliora was full of joy to see Alina suffer. As she did she freed her but something worse happened. Meliora commanded Katelyn to kill Alina. She obeyed the order and turn to medusa again but the form seem to be more powerful than before. Alina was trying to persuade Katelyn to stop but she had no control over Katelyn's body. Then Katelyn came behind Alina and cut off her hair. Alina had flash backs to when Katelyn was young and always played with Alina's hair. Katelyn was about to kill Alina when April stepped in. April put a barrier around Alina to protect her. April was about to apologize for her mistake 5 years ago when Alina hugged her. Alina was only glad that April was still alive after these 5 years. April was so happy that Alina forgave her and cried with joy. To ruin the reunion, Meliora broke the barrier. She laughed again and used her gravitational spell once more. Then she ordered Katelyn to cut of Alina's head for a trophy of victory. It felt like time had slowed down as the rain kept coming down. Before Katelyn's claws decapitated Alina, Loki stopped her in time. He looked at Katelyn in the eyes and slapped Katelyn in the face.

"WAKE UP KATELYN! OPEN YOUR EYES AND SEE WHO YOUR HURTING!" Loki yelled.

Katelyn heart pounded as she saw Alina pleading to Katelyn to stop. She dropped and became conscious. Alina was happy that Katelyn was back. Meliora was so angry that she didn't realize she broke the spell. Loki fell to the ground as well but he was still breathing. Alina was glad and sneaked a kiss on the Loki's forehead. He blushed; suddenly he saw his body healing. Alina smiled and gave April to take care of them. April agreed to Alina's terms. Alina ran back for the king and Meliora kept firing the spell at her. Alina found the pattern to Meliora's attack and dodged them. She saw the king and shot him with the arrow. For a king he was weak and fell to the floor, blood spreading. She took the arrow and was ready to fire at Meliora. She only had one chance to do this but Meliora had a trump card.

"give me the arrow or your so called friends will die." Meliora said laughing at Alina's dilemma.

Alina flinched. To either give up her friends or give up to the key of saving the world from Meliora. She came to give up the arrow then kill her friends. Meliora smirked. Before Alina almost gave the arrow, Meliora shot a massive amount of shadow magic at Loki, Katelyn and April. Alina was shocked and was going to run to stop the magical force when April froze her. She couldn't move as April said her final words. "I am sorry but thank you, Alina." April whispered. Alina was able to hear those words and cried for April to free her. April smiled and enchanted some kind of spell. She put a strong barrier on Loki and Katelyn to protect them from the magic. She sacrificed herself for them.

"NOOOOO!" Alina yelled.

As the giant blast directly hit April she fell to the ground. Alina was finally free and ran to April. Alina started crying but then she saw to notes with April. One was for her and the other was for April's mother. She read the note. As Alina read the note, she could feel the despair from April and cried more.

"To think she would d..." Meliora said.

"SHUT UP!" Alina yelled furiously.

Alina body started to change as she had now fully awakened. Her eyes were turned blue and her hair became longer. Her furious eyes had blue fire coming out. Her clothes change. She had now looked like a goddess. Then the rain stopped. Her anger also shook Meliora. Meliora was afraid of the power and ran away. Before she could run Alina spoke.

"Give it up." Alina exclaimed.

Meliora's wings gave up on her and she fell to the ground. Her minions saved her but they disappeared quickly. She quickly shot one more shadow blast at Loki from behind Alina's back. Alina teleported to the destination and looked for Meliora. She was running straight ahead. Alina shot the arrow. It glowed as it made the magic disappear and pierced Meliora through the heart. Meliora fell as she bled. Everyone cheered as she was finally destroyed Meliora. As Alina was about to change back, a portal appeared. A woman came and her henchman carried Meliora.

"thank you, Mistress" Meliora whispered.

As they were about to leave Alina shouted them to stop. As the woman looked at Alina, she said something.

"Alina..." the mysterious woman mumbled.

Only Alina heard those words. Alina got a sharp pain through her head when she heard them. The woman looked at everyone else and left. Then the portal closed. Then Alina was back to normal she fell but Loki caught her. As they both looked at each other's eyes, they both blushed.

"I..I..I Like you" both said at the same time.

They both blushed and they accepted each other. They were happy but then Katelyn woke up. Katelyn saw Loki and Alina holding hands but she did not mind. She cried, knowing she was going to kill her beloved sister. Alina looked at Katelyn and hugged her. No matter what Alina always loved her sister. Katelyn kept on crying with joy not just because Alina still loved her but for Loki for stopping her, so Katelyn was grateful. Katelyn stopped crying and walked up to Loki. Katelyn was about to punch Loki when she stopped. Instead she thanked him. It was the first time that she was nice to Loki. The sky cleared up as dawn came. Loki and Alina got closer and then Katelyn push two of their heads together to make them kiss. Everyone was shocked of the new relationship and congratulated them out of nowhere. Both of them blushed a lot and kept on holding hands. Then the prince and Eris came out. The goblins bowed down to their new ruler only to be surprise that his bride is a witch. They didn't mind that he liked the girl because she was beautiful. All of the citizens were happy now that their families don't have to live under such cruelty anymore. The prince was sad that his father is dead but he hoped that his father is having to spend in the afterlife with his mother. While everyone was cheering of their victory, Loki got some sort of message.

"don't make the same mistakes" the voice whispered in Loki's head.

He looked at Alina who smiled at him and felt joy coming over. He snuck a kiss as revenge for the forehead kiss. Alina blushed, as everyone was adored by them. They all thought that it was over but they were wrong. an ominous feeling shifted through the air, the forbidden gate had opened.
