Chapter 8: reign of the snakes

Alina was worried now. Her sister, the one with an enthusiastic heart had threaten the lives of the griffins and phoenixes. Alina knows now that the curse has changed her heart. The strange feeling has come back once again but the feeling is worse. Alina couldn't handle it. She felt that her heart was getting shattered in minutes. She fell unconscious. Loki being surprised by the sudden action immediately called everyone to come now. As everyone were trying to wake Alina up, Alina dreamt of something. The same dream happened but something was different. There was a little girl screaming help but Alina was wondering who? Alina only just realised who that little girl was, it was her younger self. Alina wanting to know more, she followed the girl. As the girl tried to get to this woman, Alina's vision became hazy. Before the woman left her last words were 'goodbye, sweetheart'. Alina head started to ring after that scene. Then her conscious came back. Alina waking up was a relieve to everyone but they were all bruised up.

"what happen when I was unconscious?!" Alina asked.

Loki decided to tell Alina. "while you were unconscious, Katelyn started to attack the griffons and phoenix people thinking that you were killed." Loki was not going to continue.

Alina had enough. Everyone sensed something unusual to Alina's aura. She got up and went straight to medusa. As she found medusa, she yelled out something. It was so quiet that they couldn't hear but Medusa definitely heard it. She came, Medusa was happy to see Alina. Alina was so angry that something changed about her. Alina's eyes suddenly turned blue and her aura became overwhelming. Her eyes full of rage wanting to strike. Medusa was afraid now, she suddenly bowed down to Alina. Everyone was amazed. All the snakemen bowed with their majesty. Alina demanded Medusa to break the curse but Medusa was too afraid to give her the answer. Alina could see medusa shaking with fear and stopped yelling.

Alina asked again with a softer voice "break the curse."

Medusa replied "I am sorry but I do not know how to."

Alina was going to get angry again when Loki stopped her. She stopped and fainted. As Loki gave her to Eric and the others, he tried to negotiate with the snakes.

"Medusa, do you have a method on making this curse temporary?" Loki asked, desperately needing a good reply.

Medusa nodded. They were happy but something felt not right.

Medusa exclaimed "to make Katelyn wake up you have to give the blood of a god."

They all were thinking on what should they do until one snakemen spoke. "we only came to this city as there was the scent of a goddess here."

As shocked everyone was, it was the truth. Loki wondered why? He would have already notice that there was a goddess here. Then he looked at Alina. The strange aura had disappeared but it was still odd. A sharp pain repeatedly stabbed his heart as his body convulsed tears flowing down his face. Some sort of memories flashed in his mind like a lightning strike. It was death; He only saw war and blood. Tears running down his face when he saw a girl lying on his lap smiling; Her life force slowly draining away. Then Loki's conscious came back. He was lying on a bed with Alina on the side. Her sleeping face was so adorable that Loki nearly exploded of awkwardness. His face was so red that it was clear to see. Alina then unexpectedly woke up. Loki quickly hid the embarrassed face but Alina saw it already. She went up and put her head on his forehead. His face was red as a rose but it seemed that he had no fever. Alina was confused so she turned around and thought of a reason. Just as Loki touched her shoulder, another memory flicked. It was the girl again. He tried to get out but it seemed impossible. Alina noticed Loki's mood. She touched his hand and Loki became came back from that nightmare. He seemed thankful but also was now more cautious of his actions.

"the memories are haunting you aren't they?" Alina asked.

He noticed that Alina was being nice to him and felt better about himself.

"Yes, but how do you know exactly?" Lokireplied. 

 Alina explained her situation about the memories but when Loki explained his situation it seemed worse. As Alina was about to say something, Katelyn raged in.

"What did you do to Alina when I was gone?!" Katelyn yelled.

Both looked at each other and blushed, then Alina replied "Katelyn don't get the wrong id...".

As Alina was going to finished, Katelyn punchedLoki in the face. "Don't go near my sister again!" as Katelyn glared at Lokiand took Alina away.
