Night walks are probably the best time to think. Yeah, you have the noises of the city, but they're oddly calming. The only thing occupying my thoughts is a beautiful blonde. One probably flying through the city somewhere. Kara Danvers. I don't even know how this happened. I must've not noticed my feelings until there was no turning back. But, I mean, how could you not love her? I look away from the sky and forward. She's here.We stop in front of eachother, "Kara."
"Y/N."
I realize I'm staring and clear my throat, "What brings you here?"
"Just enjoying the sounds of the city. What ar-"
"Look what we have here boys. A couple of helpless young ladies."
I look around to see about ten men around us. I move close to Kara and whisper, "Go change at the first opening you get."
Without letting her reply, I tackle one of the men. The others go to pull me off. Within seconds they are pulled off and I stand to see Supergirl and our other attackers, "So, 10 to 2... I like those odds," I joke.
A man comes to tackle me, leaving himself wide open. I easily get a hold of him and throw him at another. Supergirl has three on her, I grab one and knock him out easily. She has taken care of the other two. The last 5 surround us. I yell to Kara "Do you trust me?"
"What?"
"Do you trust me?"
She simply nods. I lock my hands around her wrists and proceed to swing her, knocking out the remaining, then set her down. She just looks at me, "Where did you learn how to do that?"
"I- Kara," On of the guys had gotten up and thrown a metal disk at her. I grab the disk then jump spin and release it, knocking him out.
"You know who I am?"
I ignore her and tie up the men with zipties I have. I don't speak until I'm done, "Let's go to your apartment. It's a better space to talk. So," I take a step closer, "are we flying?"
"Yeah," she wraps her arms around my waist and I wrap mine around her neck. We sit there looking at each other for a second, then she takes off. In no time we are in her living room.
"Thanks, Kara," we just stand there in each other's arms. Not to be bothered about what's going on around us. Just looking in each other's eyes. She's beautiful. I tuck a loose stand that was in front of her eye behind her ear. A blush makes a presence on her face along with a shy smile, "You're welcome."
"Come on. Let's take a seat," I grab her hand bring her to the couch, "So, let's talk."
"I guess we can start with, how you knew."
"I figured that's where you'd start," I stand up, looks like this is happening, "We knew each other before. Before CatCo, before Earth even. Remember the week before the destruction of Krypton. Your mother's friend, Rey-Li, found his daughter."
"Oh my god. Yo-You're Rey-Li's daughter. You're kryptonian. Wait, if you're kryptonian, how did you heal me?"
"I'm only half kryptonian. I don't know what my mother was. You um..You don't hate me for hiding this from you, do you?"
She laughs, "Y/N, I could never hate you," she steps closer to me, "quite the contrary, actually."
"Oh. Well, good," I glance to the clock, "It's getting late."
She frowns a bit and takes a step back, "I guess that means you should get home."
"Probably. But I'll see you tomorrow."
"But we don't work tomorrow."
I pull out an SD card from my pocket and give it to her, "A reporter never has a day off."
She looks confused, "What's on it?"
"Well, CatCo has to be the first with pictures of this new hero. And who better to write the story than Kara Danvers."
"How did you get pictures of her?"
"Heroes run towards danger. So, I just did the same. Also luck. And," I step closer to her, "If you see me tomorrow, I could probably set up something with the two of you."
"You two know eachother?"
"Kinda had to after the flash of the camera gave me away. Also, you'll need this," I hand her a piece of paper, "My number. Let me know when we should meet up tomorrow."
"I will. Thank you."
"Anything for you, Kara. Old friends gotta stick together. But, I guess, I should get going, let you get some sleep."
"Oh ok. Yeah, I'll see you out."
We make our way to the door and I turn to her, "Goodnight, Kara," I kiss her cheek then leave with a huge smile on my face. Kara Zor-El.. Who would've known she'd be the one I'd end up falling for. Hopefully there's a chance.
