"Kara Zor-El, you get your ass back here!"
She is still running away from me. Damn woman took my phone. And now she's doing Rao knows what on it, while running away from me. Not exactly at superhuman speed, but not average human either.
After J'onn and the three of us talked, the DEO has been on a serious manhunt for anyone with the possibility of obtaining kryptonite. But tonight, Kara and I actually had off. Which was going great... until the damn kryptonian took my phone!
"Kaaaraaa!! Stop messing with my phone, get over here, and give it to me!"
She only laughs harder, "No. I told you. You'll have to come and get it," she runs and looks like she's reading something, "Oh my goodness! Y/N! You like someone! You told James you like someone!"
I feel my face redden from embarrassment, "Kara! Damnit, you kroptonian women are so annoying."
"Hey! You're Kryptonian too!!"
"Only half! Now get you ass over here before I-"
I trip over a chair leg and fall on my ass. Instantly there's a burst of laughter. Not surprisingly enough, I look up to see Kara laughing at me. At first I'm mad because I'm embarrassed, but then I get an idea. I use her laughing state as an advantage and I tackle her. We both end up on the couch, with me on top of her. I grab the phone out of her hands, "Ha! I got it!"
I look down at her and her demeanor has changed. There's something about the way she's looking at me, something about her eyes. Silence falls between us. She reaches up and tucks my loose hair behind my ear then smiles at me, "Hi."
I blush instantly, "Hey."
We just stare at each other. Her magnificently blue eyes bore into mine. She held a faint smile on her face. One that could be described simply with one word, content. She also seems to be thinking about something. What that is, I don't know. Before I can ask, someone knocks on the door, snapping us out of our trance. I scramble and get off of her, "I'll uh- I'll get the door."
She sits up and nods as an ok. I go and open the door to reveal Winn and Mon-el.
"Hey, Y/N," Winn greets with a smile.
"Hi guys. What's up?"
"Kara invited us over. Spontaneous hangout."
"Well, then come in. Don't let me stop you."
They walk in and Kara hugs them. Before I can close the door, Alex, Maggie, and James appear, "Hey, Y/N!"
"Hey guys! Come in. I see you've got alcohol. So it's gonna be that kind of night. Come on in"
Just as I step away from the door, someone knocks again. I laugh and open the door, "Lucy! Come in!"
She gives me a hug, "It's been so long. I've been so busy at work. How have you been?"
I quickly close the door before continuing to walk with her, "I've been good. A bit busy, but good."
We take a seat with the others and James decides to join in, "What's got you so busy?"
"My asshole boss," I watch as his face drops and I burst out laughing, "I'm kidding. Just work and family stuff. But enough about me, anything new at work, Alex?"
She shrugs, "Nothing really."
"Oh come on. What about that new hero? Do we even have a name for her yet?"
"Not quite. She's been working with Supergirl a lot. Maybe she would know."
I turn to Kara, "Well, what do you think Kara? You're the closest to Supergirl, has she told you anything?"
A small smirk grows on her face, "Only that she's apparently stubborn and likes to do things her way."
"Preach," Lucy adds.
"It's true. But she also has a soft side to her. Like when Supergirl got hurt, she looked like she was about to tackle me out of the way just to be with her and make sure she's ok. My theory is, she knows Supergirl, or knew her at one point. And lately it's been getting worse. Almost like, working together has created some sort of connection between the two. Or at least, that's what it looks like when you watch her. She's oddly protective of Supergirl. And I don't know why."
It's kinda true, I guess I've just been ignoring it. Kara has just SOMETHING about her. And I can't help but fall for her more and more. I quickly shake the thought, "What do you think, Mike?"
"Not sure. Do you think she's stronger than Supergirl?"
Kara laughs a little, "Not possible."
I giggle, "Yeah, probably not."
"Well, I'm still trying to figure out how you got those pictures and that interview, Kara," James says, changing the topic.
She just smiles, "The world may never know."
Our eyes end up locking. I smile at her and she smiles back. We get lost again. I know there's a conversation going on around us, but I'm not paying attention. I'm too busy getting lost in those blue eyes. How could someone not fall for her? If only there was a chance.
Kara POV-
Rao, help me. Her smile is just getting me. Makes me feel things I've never felt. And those eyes. They will never fail to make me drown in them. I just want to stay lost in them forever. She's just so amazing. How did I not see it before? She consumes all of my thoughts, but I don't mind.
"Kara?!"
I jump and I notice Y/N does too, "What? What's wrong?"
"You looked a bit lost somewhere. You ok?"
"Yeah. Just thinking about an idea for an article. Not ready to say what it is yet though."
Y/N Y/L/N.... you are gonna be the death of me.
