I open the door, Brandon following close behind. There in the doorway stood Dylan. But not Luke. "Hey Dylan!" I say pulling him in for a hug. "Hey Sky." He replied simply. "Where's uncle Luke?" I ask trying to see behind Dylan. "Oh he'll be here soon, he just had to stop at mum's for a few minutes." He said. "Oh, okay. Come on in." I say moving for him to come inside. "Oh hey Brandon!" Dylan said giving Brandon a bro hug. "Let's go up to my room." I say heading towards my room. As we walk through the kitchen, I offer then something to drink. "You guys want anything?" I ask turning towards them. "Can I have a water?" Asked Dylan. "Bottle okay?" I ask going in the fridge to get one. "Sure." He replies taking it out of my hands. "Brandon?" I ask looking at him. "Huh? Oh sorry. I didn't hear you." He said blushing then turned away probably hoping I didn't see. "I offered something to drink." I said closing the fridge. "Oh, no thank you." He said. They followed behind me as we made our way to my room. "What do you wanna do?" I ask them. "Hey, doesn't your dad have a recording room here?" Asked Dylan. "Yeah, why?" I asked looking at Dylan confused. "Wanna go sing something for us? You were really good when I heard you last time. He asked. "Oh, thanks but I don't think Brandon would wanna hear that." I say hoping he would go on my side for this. "I don't mind, let's go." He said giving me his famous Irwin smile. I punch him playfully walking towards where my dad and uncle Ashton are talking. Before I could enter I heard them talking about something serious. My dad doesn't get serious very often so I could tell something was wrong. "Why'd you-" Dylan started but I cut him off by shushing him. I put my ear to the door and can sort of hear what they're saying. "Sure, stay as long as you need to. You're like a brother to me Ash." My dad said. What?! "Thanks Mikey, you really saved Brandon and I." Ashton replies. I pull Dylan and Brandon away from the door and we make our way down to the recording room. "Stay here, I gotta go ask my dad first." I say. "Okay." Dylan said. Brandon didn't seem to hear me again. I knock on the door to the music room. "Come in." I heard my dad call. "Hey Skylar, what's up?" He asks looking at me. "Can Brandon, Dylan and I use the recording room? They wanted to hear me sing." I ask looking down at my feet. "Um, are you sure you wanna sing for them?" He asks me. I nod not wanting to look at him. "What's wrong Skylar?" He asks pulling me in for a hug. "Dylan heard me singing in choir class today. He said I was really good." I said blushing. "Oh I get it." He says smiling at me. Then he winks at me. "Sure you can use the recording room but not just for sound. Record what song you're gonna sing. I wanna hear it later." He says sending me out. "Thanks dad!" I call heading back towards the recording room. "What'd he say?" Brandon asked me as he saw me walk up to them. "He said sure as long as I record it. What do you wanna hear?" I ask getting into the booth. "Sing one of the band songs." Brandon says. "Okay, what song?" I ask them. "Whatever one you wanna sing." Brandon says. "Actually," Dylan starts. Brandon and I look over at him. "Can you sing the song you were singing in choir?" He asks me. "I don't know. I'm not that great." I say. "Nonsense, you were amazing!" He says. "Fine! Just hit the red button when your ready to start the song. It's called gotta get out." I say. Not even a minute later the song starts. Here goes nothing!
