Brandon and I were walking outside to go to school. "Bye kids, have fun!" Uncle Ashton calls as we head for the bus stop. "Do you ever think of him Bran?" I ask Brandon, breaking the silence that filled the air. "Who?" He asks cluelessly. "Come on Brandon." I say. I don't use his full name anymore unless I'm serious. We've become quite close. Like a siblings bond. "Whoa. You're serious, aren't you?" He asks surprised. I don't see why he wouldn't be. I haven't called him Brandon since Dylan left. "Brandon, you know who I'm talking about." I say looking down at my shoes. "Yeah" he says walking ahead of me. I run to catch up. As I get closer, I hear sniffles. "Bran? Are you alright?" I ask, touching his shoulder lightly. He brushes my hand away, not saying a word. When we got to the bus stop the bus was just pulling up. We walked on and went to our normal seat. I used to sit with Tatiana but she moved away so I sit with Brandon now. "Leave me alone." He says as I place my bag down next to his on the floor. "Oh, okay. Sorry Bran." I say grabbing my bag and sitting across the aisle from him. I look back at him, to see him in the state I always am. Headphones in, pen writing in a book, looking outside every once and a while for a couple seconds then going back to write. I stopped though. When I met Dylan. I haven't done it since I met him. He made it seem like a sin.
*Flashback*
I had my headset on, listening to my favourite band TØP when their song Doubt came on. That was my favourite song. My eyes would grow as it started playing. I had my story book in my lap, pen in hand. Looking at the world every once and a while. I felt someone sit next to me. "Uh oh" I mumble to myself. I hate social interaction. I'm always so weird, no matter who it is. "Hi!" The boy says. I wave giving my best fake smile. "I'm Dylan, what's your name?" He says holding out his hand. "Call me Sky." I say quietly shaking his hand. "Nice to meet you Sky." He says smiling. I nod. "What are you writing?" He asks trying to look at the page I was writing in. "It's nothing." I say closing the book. "It's gotta be something. I mean you write in it everyday!" He shouts. "Trust me, it's nothing." I say turning back to the window. "What are you listening to?" He asks me. "Favourite song" I said not wanting to pause it again. "What song?" He asks poking my shoulder. I sigh pausing my music once again. "You sure ask a lot of questions Dylan." I say giggling. "That's because you're a mystery, and I'm Sherlock!" He says pulling out a magnifying glass. I laugh at the fact that it was just laying in his pocket.
*end of flashback*
"I miss you Dylan" I say looking up at the sky, as if he was dead. I turn and look at Brandon seeing him already looking at me. He smiled a broken smile and wiped the tears from his eyes, looking back at his phone.
