"Bryan is my," I choked, struggling to get the words off of my tongue. I leaned in closer, so that I could whisper, " Bryan is my abusive father."

Austin stared blankly at me, not saying anything, not doing anything; absolutely nothing.

"Austin, you need to tell Michele. We're all in danger. If he knows I'm here," I paused, scared to continue, but I still finished my statement. "He'll kill me. He might even kill Michele if he knows I'm here."

"Stay here," he said.

I nodded as I watched him walk out the door. I locked the door, so that my dad, Bryan, would not walk in on me. If he would see me, he would know it's me.

[Austin's Point of View]

I'd be lying if I would say I wasn't nervous. I was about to deal with a guy who hit his own daughter.
I honestly have no idea how to handle this.

"BRYAN!" Oh no, what did I just do? "GET OUT OF THIS HOUSE AND NEVER COME BACK!"

"Austin! What's wrong, dude, calm down," Alex whispered. His attempt to calm me down failed miserably.

"Alex, let me handle this."

Alex immediately backing off. I wasn't try to be mean; I prefer him to stay out of this.

"I thought you liked Bryan," my mom said, I could see a tear forming in her left eye.

"Used to, but not anymore."

"What did I do?" Bryan asked. He was trying to play dumb, like he really was a nice guy. That made me ten times angrier. I wasn't going to buy his crap anymore.

"YOU BEAT YOUR SEVENTEEN YEAR OLD DAUGHTER!"

My anger consumed my mind. I'm doing things without thinking about them. Now he knows that I know his daughter. Crap is about to go down.

My mom immediately turned to Bryan. She wasn't crying anymore; Her face was flushed with anger. "Get out. We're through."

"No," he barked.

"Excuse me."

My mom gave him 'the glare'. Which means 'I'll beat your hind end'

Bryan picked up my mom and flung her over his shoulder. I clenched my fists and I kicked him where the sun doesn't shine. He instantly fell to the floor with my mom on his shouders. My mom ran to the other side of the kitchen, calling the police. Bryan hoisted himself up onto his feet, ready to fight me. I may work out, but Bryan was a well built man. It would be like fighting a brick wall.

Bryan charged at me, I dodged his first punch and swung at his stomach. The punch I threw had no effect. Bryan glanced over at my mom with the phone in her hand. He ran towards her, and he grabbed her, placing a pocket knife against her throat,

"Bryan... Please.... I'll do anything," my mom begged.

My mom was crying and then I started to cry. She was my only parent. I love her SO much. I can't imagine being an orphan, living life without both of my parents, and being sent to a foster family. I can't bare another death.

"Anything? Where's my daughter?"

He turned to me, he knew I must have made recent contact.

"Give her to me and you can have your mom back."

Just as he finished the sentence, I saw Bryan hit the ground, unconcious. Sophia was behind him with a broken glass bottle. Sophia saved us.

"You don't know how long I've wanted to do that," she said. I was overwhelmed with emotion. I ran up to her and gave her the best hug I could possibly give. My mom jumped up on her feet and cried into Sophia's arms.

"Thank you... so much," she said, still crying in her arms.

"You don't have to thank me."

Police officers came in; they asked questions. They arrested Sophia's father. After the events that just occured, I couldn't help, but be a tad paranoid. I had that feeling that even though he would be in jail, he would still be watching us. The police finally left us alone in our silence. I eventually decided to break the tension.

"We need to move."
