So, last chapter revealed information about the company! They blackmail police officers into doing what they want them to do, which gives the company power. The blackmails explain why the company is underneath the police station. It also explains the 911 run license plate. Do you remember that? (; The company sure likes to blackmail people.

__________________________

They said today was my final day here, but I don't bet on it. I was told that our wedding was Saturday, yet here I am; It's been a week since our scheduled wedding. Nancy has rescheduled due to 'unexpected events.' I wasn't complaining. If marrying Alex will get me out of here, then I will take it. Being contained like a beast is nerve-wrecking.

I wondered what Michele and Austin are doing right now. Probably scared out of their wits. I remember when Michele became missing. The distant memory still brings chills to my spine.

My thoughts are immediately broken by Alex saying, "What are you thinking?" I groan silently to myself. I understand he is trying to be nice, however, I'm clearly not in the mood.

"What did you mean by 'It's part of the blackmail'?" I say, changing the subject.

"What are you--?"

"When I asked you about the reason why you killed Bryan last week, you replied, 'It's part of the blackmail'? Are you talking about the company, or--"

"The company's motives are bloody and destructive. They don't care who they kill, as long as they receive power. They would even kill their own families, in order to get the power they want. So far, they are succeeding."

"You didn't answer my question." I'm growing impatient at the unanswered questions swirling inside my head.

"Actually I did, before I accidentally left the door unlocked. By the way, I really didn't purposely leave the door unlocked; I just forgot to lock it." I blush, acknowledging the fact that he lied to protect me. It's ironic how instead of protecting me, it ended up getting us both hurt. Lies will always find you in the end.

"Oh, I'm sorry. If you already answered my question before, then, why didn't you tell me about the company's motives?"

Alex laughs, "You're just full of questions," He stands up. Alex walked over table and sits on it. I'm telling you, Alex is sorta like me. He can't stay still. "The company wanted your dad's hacking skills and technology, but he refused to join. The company decided to get rid of him and take his technology. Therefore, persuading you to kill him. I told them I would do it, since I am, technically, a part of this company. I told them about our plan with the fake body. I knew the plan would fail because your dad is a loud mouth. As a warning, instead of killing you, they caught the hotel on fire."

"Bryan could hack?"

"Yep," he emphasized the 'p'.

The door swungs open, I rolled my eyes; It's Nancy.
