Flashing lights of cameras blinded my eyes as we made our way through the crowd. Reporters were yelling questions at us, but mainly to Michele and Austin.

"Michele, Michele, why do you have rips in your clothing?" A reporter shouts, causing me to flinch. Reporters continue to bother Michele and her appearance. Alex politely ordered them to leave us alone. Of course, they ignored him.

Michele said, "Let's grab a bite." We all agree and traveled to the nearest restaurant.

We all go to McDonald's and order our food, which consists of chicken nuggets. I dip my chicken in barbecue sauce, while drowning in my thoughts.

"My commercial is on!"

Austin directed his attention to the small television.

"You bake it all and leave me muffin!"

We all laughed, pointing at Austin. He only blushed and reverted his gaze to his lap.

"Sophia King!"

I turned my head in the direction of my name, with my mouth slightly opened.

It was a police officer.

"Sophia King."

"Yes," I replied to the police officer, feeling a little nervous.

"Can you please come with me downtown for questioning?"

I glanced over at the others faces; they were just as confused as I was.

"Okay."

I scooted out of the booth and walked behind the gigantic cop. He was just as tall as he was wide.

The reporters are going to jump all over this story.

When I walked out of McDonald's, the reporters run up to my side, hoping to squeeze information out of me that I didn't obtain. Ignore them and climb into the back of the police car.

"Don't worry," The police officer places the key into the ignition. I stared at his sausage fingers as they twisted the keys. "You're not in trouble... yet."

Within twenty minutes, we arrived at the police station. I was still wondering why I was being questioned. I did nothing wrong.

"Get out," the police officer barked, while pulling at my wrists.

Before I knew it, I was in an almost empty room. I rest my folded hands on the gray table. I was still waiting for the detective to question me about whatever I'm in this empty place for.

A mid aged man walks in and sits across the table from me. Opening a file, which appears to be information about me.

"Why am I here?" I asked, bitterly.

"Haven't you heard?" the man chuckled, only increasing my anger. "Don't play dumb."

"Play dumb? Sir, I have no idea what you are talking about. Why am I even being questioned?"

"Your father is dead. Actually, his death was no accident."

I laughed, shaking my head, "What are you trying to say? You think I murdered him," I paused, noticing he wasn't going to rely. "I didn't murder him! What on earth gives you the idea that I would do such a thing?"

"You ran away from your father, claiming he abused you-"

"Claiming? He did, in fact, beat me. I called the police multiple times, but they all laughed in my face. My only option was running away. If I wanted to kill him, I would have done it a long time ago!"

"No need to raise your voice. We have a recording of your voice."

Oh no. Now I know who killed my father. It was them. They framed me!

He played the recording, so we can both hear it.

I have made my decision. I will kill my dad. My father has beaten me for years and I want revenge.

The recording was from my conversation on the phone. I know they took out bits and pieces from the conversation, transforming it to seem like I wanted to kill him.

My own plan bit me back in the butt.

"That conversation isn't real. It was made up."

That explanation sounded better in my head. Now, he is going to think I'm insane.

"That's the most stupid explanation I've ever heard of," He laughed, standing up from his chair. I quickly ran to the door to block it. "Get out of my way, kid."

"Listen to me. I didn't kill my dad. I know it's hard to believe, but it's the truth."

"I'm sorry to say this Ms. King, but this case is pretty solid."

I grab his arm just before he could step out of the door.

"What does this mean for me?"

"Depending on how the trial goes..." He turned around to face me. "If you are innocent, you will be sent into foster care."

The detective turned around and left the room, leaving me speechless.
