his voice./smut warning

"why? because when he talked to me I felt this sound, this inner symphony making trouble inside my mind, and then all I saw was him." -unknown.

I have always found it so comforting: Calum's voice, that is. Something about the raspy, yet smooth tune has always been the water to my burning flame. I don't know how or why that is exactly, but I do know one thing for sure and that is Calum's voice is my favorite thing to listen to.

Maybe it was his late night whispers that always put me into a peaceful sleep that was filled with dreams about him. Maybe it was how the words he spoke always sounded like freshly written poetry or a new song that I put on repeat for days on end. His voice, however, was like a song that I could just simply not overplay. Maybe it was his beautiful, raspy moans that always sent me over the edge because fuck-I was the cause of those alluring sounds. Or maybe it was the hundred different ways that he could say 'I love you'. And let me tell you, hearing him say those three words was like a symphony to my ears.

Before I had met Calum, I often wondered how somebody's voice could have an affect on another living thing. How does somebody's mood change in a blink of an eye due to someone creating a noise with their throat? It always blew my mind.

It wasn't until I met Calum that I realized how easily and effortless it was to calm someone down just by speaking some silly little words.

It was raining the day Calum and Luke had their first 'fight'. The sun was covered by grey clouds, and all Calum wanted was to be covered by his grey blankets with a cuddling Luke beside him.

Luke, unfortunately, was stressed and worked up over a paper that was due tomorrow that his boss had assigned for him. And because Luke wanted to keep his job, he was spending all day behind his desk and in front of his laptop typing away.

"Luke?" Calum asked while standing next to Luke in just a pair of boxers and one of Luke's long sleeve shirts. "Come cuddle with me?"

"Not now, babe," Luke mumbled, not really giving Calum his full attention. He couldn't afford to get distracted.

"Please? Five minutes won't kill you," Calum pleaded. Luke just ignored him, not even bothering to respond with a simple 'I'm busy'.

"Luke. Lukey," Calum mumbled repeatedly while poking Luke's cheek with his index finger. He poked him again, and again, and again.

"Calum! Seriously, knock it off!" Luke yelled without thinking. Calum flinched ever so slightly at the boom of Luke's voice and stood there with a pale face. Luke shamefully shook his head and slammed his laptop shut. He sighed into his hands in a stressful manner and waited for the yelling to start. But it never came.

Instead, Calum walked behind the chair and cupped Luke's shoulders. He rubbed and massaged all of Luke's knots and tense muscles. Luke sighed contently and leaned his head back against Calum's stomach.

"You okay, Lukey?" Calum asked sweetly. Luke's nerves and anger had all washed away as soon as he heard the loving voice that he had grown so fond of. Luke was honestly ready to cry at this point. He was just so stressed because his boss has been giving him a shit ton to do lately, and Luke could barely keep up.

Luke shook his head no and slowly stood up before turning to Calum with tears in his eyes. Calum frowned and pulled him into a tight hug. Luke started to cry almost immediately.
