his smile.

"The power of a gun can kill, and the power of fire can burn. The power of wind can chill, and the power of mind can learn. The power of anger can rage inside until it tears you apart. But the power of a smile, especially yours, can heal a frozen heart." -Zymeth Isaac

Seeing Calum smile is pretty damn close to the feeling of relief after waking up from a nightmare and figuring out that it was all just a figment of imagination. His smile is like the feeling of coming up for fresh air after drowning in a pool of problems.

There's nothing, in my mind, that Calum's smile couldn't heal. It's like I was a disease, and Calum was the vaccine that cured me.

His glowing white teeth always sparkled, and it made me feel like I was in a spotlight.

The way his red lips curved to create an image of the moon always caused mine to do the same. Calum's smile is definitely contagious. Whenever his lips spread and his pearly whites shined, everybody else in the same room as him couldn't help but smile too.

He lifted people's moods in a matter of seconds with a simple smile. I don't know how, but I'm surely not complaining. I absolutely adored Calum's smile.

It wasn't just the smile on his lips, though. It was the smile in his eyes and how the edges always crinkled to imitate his lips. His smiles never lie, and that's the one thing about him that I know will never change. He knows just the right time to do it, and when he does, it's like the light after an eclipse.

Somehow, Calum's smile draws me closer to his heart. It's tender and charming, and I will do everything in my power to make his smile stay. Because once his smile is gone, so is mine.

Luke stood in the corner of the crowded living room and watched as his loving boyfriend walked around and talked to his annoying co-workers.

It was the holidays, and Calum's boss was throwing a fancy party, which Calum and Luke were invited to. Luke definitely didn't want to go considering he hated all of Calum's co-workers, but he knew better. He knew that Calum would want him there by his side, so he went, obviously.

Luke slowly spun the wine in his glass, but made sure to not make a mess. He would feel extremely horrible if he spilt red wine on the expensive white carpet that was underneath him, and quite frankly, he didn't want to get chewed out by Calum for 'making him look bad in front of his boss'.

Luke watched as Calum went from one co-worker to the next cheerfully. The smile on his face told Luke that he was having a great time, and Luke didn't want anything to ruin that. He loved when Calum was happy. He loved when Calum smiled because it reassured Luke that he was happy.

He continued to spin the wine, but stopped when he saw his beautiful boyfriend walking towards him with that beautiful, bright smile.

"Hey, beautiful," Luke said and leaned down to give Calum a quick kiss. Calum stood on the tips of his toes to kiss Luke back and laughed at their height difference.

"Hi, handsome," Calum replied as Luke placed his forehead on Calum's. "Having fun?"

"Totally," Luke said sarcastically, which caused Calum to slap his chest playfully.
