his eyes.

"they are copper against honey and sage and when they water they glow, two perfect orbs the same shade as nature after it rains. you're not as simple as they wanted you to be." -unknown.

After seeing his eyes for the first time, I have never been able to look at the color brown the same.

Just like his voice, his eyes are comforting. Whenever I look at him, my bones relax, and my nerves melt. They are consuming: his eyes. I could never get anything done on time because his chocolate-like orbs locked me in like a prisoner in a jail cell.

My parents warned me about drugs in the streets, but never the ones with big brown eyes and a heartbeat. His eyes were like drugs. It's the one thing that I just can't quit, and I'm overdosing. I don't mind, though. If eyes could kill, I'd be six feet underground.

I tend to lose my train of thought whenever I look at him, which he sometimes gets annoyed about. Especially when he's the one talking, and I'm staring into his eyes like I've seen a ghost.

I don't know what it is about them that has always seemed to draw me in. Is it just because they belong to Calum? Is it because they remind me of the dark sand that sticks to our feet as we walk along the shore? Or is it because every time I look into his chocolate eyes, I see our future?

One thing that I can see for sure whenever I look at him, is me falling more and more in love each time.

The soothing sound of Calum's tiny giggle is was brought Luke out of his trance. He hadn't realized how long he had been staring until Calum snapped his fingers in front of his face.

They weren't even dating at the time, but Luke still found himself getting lost in the swirling sea of his enlightened eyes. (catch fire wya?)

"Were you even listening?" Calum asked kinda annoyed, might I add. But he also thought it was kinda funny.

"Of course I was," Luke said hesitantly. "You were talking about how you hated how your coworkers always complained about their lunches."

Calum laughed and shook his head. "That conversation was five minutes ago, Luke. Is everything okay? You seem distracted."

"Huh? Yeah, everything's fine. I'm sorry," Luke rambled. He wasn't lying, either. He was perfectly fine, and he was even better than usual because Calum was there. Sometimes, however, he can't concentrate on what Calum was saying because he was too busy falling in love with his eyes.

"You sure?" Calum asked as he leaned over the table that they were sat at. He placed the back of his hand on Luke's forehead to make sure he wasn't ill.

"Cal," Luke laughed and grabbed Calum's hand, placing a soft kiss on his knuckles. "I'm fine."

The Maori boy's cheeks flushed to a shade of red, and he looked down at the table and shut his eyes. Luke frowned and let go of Calum's hand before he leaned over and tilted his head up with his index finger.

"Keep your eyes open," Luke demanded. "They're too beautiful not to be seen."

"Oh, shut up, Luke," Calum giggled and shook his head. "My eyes are brown. There's nothing special about them."

"I guess we agree to disagree," Luke mumbled with a smirk. Calum rolled his eyes with a chuckle and leaned back in the booth.

"Quit staring at me," Calum groaned and covered his face with his hands. Luke cooed at the sight and took a sip of his coffee. He never looked away from the beautiful boy in front of him, though.

"I like to stare at you," Luke replied with a shrug. "Every time I look at you, it's like seeing you for the first time again and again."

It was the truth. Every time Luke looked at Calum, it's like meeting him for the first time all over again.

Luke remembers that day so vividly. Two months ago, he saw a freezing Calum walking home angrily in the rain. He couldn't help but run up to him to give him his jacket. It was like nature was telling him to, knowing that something great would come out of it.

So, that's what he did. He tapped him on the shoulder, and the angry boy turned around in a hurry. His eyes were blood shot and snot was running down his nose. Luke gave him his jacket, and two months later they're here.

"I looked like a train wreck when we first met," Calum stated.

"Well," Luke said and took another sip of his coffee. "You were the most beautiful train wreck I have ever seen."

-

His eyes were only one reason, out of a million, as to how I fell so helplessly in love with Calum Hood.
