I just realized that I never gave you guys a picture of cake, so here's a video of cake to make up for it! Double updateee. Enjoy!
-4 months later-
"He's hurting too, you know?" Ashton stated while taking a sip of his fresh beer.
"He's the one who broke up with me," Luke grumbled before doing the same.
It's been four months. Four whole months and Luke and Calum haven't talked once. The only thing that Luke has been doing is sleeping on his couch and drinking beer. He can't even sleep in his own bed because it smells just like Calum. Everything reminds Luke of Calum.
He accidentally left some of his clothes behind, so Luke can barely go through his closet or dresser without bursting into a fit of tears. All of their pictures are still hanging around the house, so Luke tends to keep his head down when he walks. His smell is still somehow lingering in the air, even though Luke has tried many times to spray and clean away his familiar french vanilla scent. Nothing has worked, and he's still hopelessly in love with him.
"He can't concentrate on his work," Ashton said. "He zones out all of the time, and it's gotten to the point where he had to leave early because he couldn't stop crying."
"I'm sure he's over me by now," Luke mumbled sadly. He's not really sure why he's even talking to Ashton about this. They didn't even come to this bar together; they just happened to see each other, and Ashton noticed how sad Luke was.
"Yesterday, Luke. That happened yesterday," Ashton said sternly. Luke's eyes widened and his eyebrows furrowed.
"He still cares about me?"
"Are you kidding?" Ashton asked quite shocked. "Do you remember when I met you at that party last year?"
Luke only nodded his head and frowned because that was one of the best memories that he has ever had with Calum. Now, all it is is a heartbreak to remember.
"When I saw you two look at each other, I knew right then and there that you two were in love. It was like you were the only ones in my house and nothing else mattered. You guys were in love. Something like that doesn't go away that easily," Ashton lectured. Luke eyes brimmed with tears, but he quickly blinked them away and took a swig of his beer.
"I just don't know why I'm such an idiot," Luke whispered, barely audible, but Ashton picked it up.
"Why are you an idiot?"
"I forgot our second anniversary. What kind of boyfriend does something like that? I was so busy planning his damn surprise birthday party to even realize what the date was," Luke confessed. He didn't even try stopping the tears at this point because new ones kept falling. Ashton's eyes widened, and Luke soon felt a slap his the back of his head.
"You fucking idiot!" Ashton yelled, which caused a few drunk strangers to look their way.
"I know. No need to remind me," Luke mumbled while rubbing the sore spot.
"No, Luke. Why didn't you tell him that? He thought you forgot your anniversary for no reason! He thought you didn't love him anymore!" Ashton continued to yell. "Why didn't you tell him?"
"He wouldn't let me! I tried to tell him, but he kept interrupting me!" Luke yelled back. "He blocked my number, and he would never open the damn door for me. I never got the chance to tell him."
"You just did," Ashton said with a sly smile, his voice now back to normal. Luke furrowed his eyebrows at the curly haired lad and turned to where his finger was pointed.
"Calum?!" Luke yelled and jumped from his stool. Calum smiled awkwardly and gave a small wave.
"Hi, Lukey," Calum replied. The two boys stared at each other for a few seconds before running into each other's embrace, quite literally.
"I'm so sorry, baby. For absolutely everything. I wasn't trying to be distant, I just didn't want you to find out about the party. I know how much you love surprises, so I just wanted your birthday to be perfect. Abby was helping out with the decorations, and I had to plan everything out with the boys because they were helping too. I didn't mean to forget our anniversary. I never meant to hurt you," Luke cried into the crook of Calum's neck. His back was slouched down, and it was quite uncomfortable, but he just wanted to be in Calum's arms once again.
"I feel like utter shit, Luke. I'm sorry for not letting you explain yourself. I'm usually so against stuff like that, but it was just so intense and in the moment. I'm so so sorry," Calum replied while hugging the tipsy blonde tightly.
"Don't apologize," Luke demanded. "It's not your fault."
"Yes it is!" Calum pulled away. "I broke up with the love of my life because I thought you didn't love me anymore, but you were just planning a surprise party. I'm such a shitty person."
"Y-You still love me?" Luke asked calmly.
"I never stopped," Calum said shyly. Luke smiled and pulled Calum back in for another hug. "I love you so much."
"I love you more," Luke stated and pulled his head back. He cupped Calum's chubby cheeks and placed his small lips on Calum's plump ones. They stayed like that until they needed to catch their breath, so they broke apart. "I miss doing that."
Calum chuckled softly and pecked Luke's lips once again. "Me too."
"Promise you'll never leave me again. Unless I do something stupid like cheat on you or ACTUALLY ignore you," Luke said pleadingly. "Which I would never do, by the way."
Calum smiled and hugged Luke's torso, "I promise."
"Fuck you guys for making me cry when I'm supposed to be having fun." Calum and Luke snapped their heads to Ashton, who was now wiping the tears from his face with a napkin.
"Sorry, Ash," Luke apologized with a small chuckle, Calum doing the same.
"Why don't you guys go home and have make up sex or something," Ashton suggested while groaning at his now puffy eyes.
"I think that's a great idea, Ashton," Luke said confidently before sending a wink in Calum's direction. The maori boy blushed and grabbed onto Luke's hand. They said their goodbyes to Ashton and left the bar.
"Now we just have to have sex. I mean-Ashton is your boss, so that being said, you have to do what he tells you," Luke said innocently while swinging their arms back and forth as they walked to Calum's car.
"Keep up that attitude, and you'll get jack squat," Calum mumbled while laughing. Luke laughed loudly and stopped the two in the middle of the sidewalk.
"I love you, Calum Hood. Never forget that."
"And I love you, Luke Hemmings. Forever and always."
-
His presence was only one reason, out of a million, as to how I fell so helplessly in love with Calum Hood.

Reason five part two!
I feel like this chapter is really shitty, and I cried while writing this too, so you better have cried. Kidding kidding.
