Jamie POV
“He seemed like a nice boy.” My father stated as we pulled out of town. I actually wished Zayn would have come with us for some reason. He seems lonely, but then again so does Harry. Maybe that’s why they are friends.
“Uh yeah, he is.” My father wasn’t one to keep asking questions, but my mother on the other hand would have kept pestering me with a million and one questions.
The ride back was silent. We listened to the radio and stopped by KFC to get some dinner to bring home tonight. I wanted to steal some chicken out of the warm bucket, but I knew my father would steal some also. By the time we would have gotten back it all would be gone.
I set the bucket down on the floorboard beside me feet to fight the urge to steal some. We passed through town and Harry’s truck was no longer by the store. Maybe he got out early. When we finally pulled up I was relieved and quickly brought the food in. My mother was on the couch watching some game show.
“Did you bring the food?” My father and I said yes in unison. She turned and took the food from me taking it into the kitchen. “Jamie, why don’t you invite that lovely young man over for dinner?” My mother was washing her hands and getting ready to set the table.
Why does she want Harry over? She stood staring at me waiting for an answer. “Uh sure.” I walked out onto the porch and dialed his number. He didn’t answer after the 3rd call. I decided to walk up to his house and see if he is there.
The air had grown cool and the sun was going down. I walked up the rocky dirt road and past the gate. I don’t remember what it looks like here since Harry has only driven me back from his house once and at night. Honestly it was a little scary because of all of the trees around. They covered everything in a scary way.
I came around a turn and noticed a large field to my right. Farther in the back were more trees. As I turned back to the road Harry’s cabin came in sight. His truck wasn’t in the drive and his lights were on. Why does he always keep them on?
I pulled out my phone to see if he had called or text back, nothing. I went to turn around when I stepped on something poking out of the dirt. I picked it up and it was a zip tie that was cut open. Beside it was another zip tie on the ground.
Why ? I set them down assuming he must have had something tied up. When I sat them down I got a flashback in my head.
Flashback*****
My body felt heavy and I couldn’t open my eyes. I could feel my body being moved around. Something was put on my wrists. It was really tight and held them together. They stayed like that for awhile until I felt my body being moved again.
I think I’m being moved outside. My wrist didn’t feel tight anymore and felt like they were hanging loose now.
End flashback****
It couldn’t be. He wouldn’t zip tie my wrist, I mean why would he do that? That is the most ridiculous thing ever.
I took one of them and put it around my wrists and the shape matched it, but… This is crazy. I felt sudden panic in my chest, I’m not sure why though. I stuffed them in my pocket and ran back to the house.
“Well?” My mother asked as she sat at the table.
“He wasn’t home.” I said and sat down still thinking about what I had found.
Harry POV
I was so bored at work and desperately wanted to see Jamie. I had seen her run by earlier, but I didn’t see her run back by. I walked to the window and saw her walking back toward town. A car drove by and stopped beside her.
