I walked closer to see it was some sort of bonfire. A bunch of people were walking over and they had lights strung over the cars. I walked over slowly to see if they would notice. Nobody had noticed so far, they all went about talking and doing whatever.

I sat by the water letting my feet soak in the cool water. They were all drinking and laughing which I didn’t care to participate in. I sat for a few minutes thinking about track. I will have so much to make up for.

I will need to be running every day, even then it won’t help. I sighed and leaned back onto the ground. I watched as more stars appeared in the sky. They were all dead, but they were so beautiful. Maybe death is a beautiful thing.

I smiled to myself and let out a cheesy laugh. My view was ruined by the guy I had met earlier. He now stood over me staring like I was a penny on the ground or he was in deep thought. I quickly sat up and turned. “Um hi.” I said deciding to stand. I brushed the sand off of my legs and slipped my shoes back on.

“Hello.” He said looking at me. Why does he keep looking at me? It is getting a little weird.

“Can I help you with something?” I asked trying not to sound as rude.

“Wondering why you are at my party.” He looked behind himself at the people that sat by the fire. Well now I feel rude.

“Oh sorry, I didn’t know.” I said trying not to feel embarrassed. He smiled showing a dimple. His hair was perfectly curled and his teeth perfect. This guy was just perfect.

“It alright, do you want to head over to the bar? We are all moving the party over there.” He said giving that grin again. I watched as the people started to pack up their stuff and move.

“Sure.” I half whispered. We walked the short distance to the bar. I took a seat at a table and he sat beside me.

“So are you enjoying yourself?” He asked. I hadn’t really been paying attention to the party and we just got here, but I didn’t want to be rude.

“Yes, I am.” I said playing with my phone.

“Do you want a drink?” I nodded. “I’m going to the bathroom.” I stated and got up to find it.

I watched as he went to the bar. He leaned over it smiling at the man who had served me earlier. I pushed on the bathroom door and walked in. My hair was a mess and I looked like crap. I finished trying to fix myself and walked back out.

That guy wasn’t at the bar and he wasn’t at the table we were at. I looked around and only saw a few people. They were all busy talking and going about.

I tapped on a guy at the table next to us. He turned and raised his brows. “Did you see the guy I was sitting with?” He looked around and then back at me.

“No.” He said and turned around. Maybe that guy just walked in or something. I walked over to the bar and decided to ask the bartender.

“Excuse me, do you know where the curly headed boy went?” It doesn’t help that I don’t know his name.

“No, there hasn’t been a curly headed boy in here.” What?

“He was just at the bar. I walked in with him.” I said looking around as if he’ll show up any second. The guy at the bar shrugged his shoulders as he wiped the bar down with a rag.

“I would have known if I saw him.” He said. Are you kidding me right now? This is just ridiculous now. How come nobody has seen him when this is his party? I mean just a few minutes ago these people followed us here.

I held onto my phone tighter and slipped it into my pocket. “Seriously? The guy had curly brown hair. He has green eyes and is really tall.” That is the best description I could give to the bartender. He was cleaning out a glass and stared me down.
