*6:30pm Wednesday August 16th*

I pull into the driveway of the LaBrant's house. I get out of my car and am suddenly hit in head with a soccer ball. Which then goes bouncing into the neighbors yard. I go get it and then take both the ball and Carmen's bag to the front door and ring the door bell. This time Mrs. LaBrant answers. "Oh you must be Charlie," she says and gives me a warm smile.

"Yes, it's good to meet you," I say.

"You didn't have to bring a soccer ball. We have tons, all of my sons play," says Mrs. LaBrant.

"Oh no, I uh got hit with it. Thought I should give it back," I say.

"It was probably Cole, the legs on that boy are astronomical," she says and I chuckle.

"Oh well, here you are," I say.

"Why don't you come in, my husband wants to meet you. Cole has told as quite a bit about you and so has Carmen," says Mrs. LaBrant and I blush a little.

"Oh dear," I say but follow her into the pretty house.

"Carmen, Charlie is here," calls Mrs. LaBrant up the stairs and my little sister comes racing down the steps with Lilly following close behind.

"Hey Charlie!" she says and I wrap her in a hug.

"Being good?" I ask.

"Yes," she says and rolls her eyes a little.

"Having fun?" I ask.

"Loads," she says and smiles at Lilly.

"Hey Charlie," and I look up to see Cole with an embarrassed smile.

"Hi," I say and give a small wave.

"Are you staying?" asks Cole.

"No, I just came to drop off Carmen's things," I say and point to the pink duffle bag on the floor by the couch.

"Well you should, we are having a grill out," says Cole.

"You must be Charlie," says a low voice and an older man appears behind Cole.

"Hello, Mr. LaBrant," I say and shake his hand.

"Like Cole was saying, you should stay," he says.

"Please Charlie," says Carmen and she clamps her tiny fingers around my wrist.

"Okay," I say and receive a few smiles. I text my mom and follow them to the backyard. Lilly and Carmen go play on the trampoline and Cole stands beside me.

"You play?" he asks and tosses a soccer ball in the air and catches it again.

"Never have," I say.

"Come on, I'll teach you," says Cole and he grabs my hand and pulls me from the deck onto the grass.

"You will want to take your shoes off," says Jack who is bouncing a soccer ball from his chest to his knee and back. I unlace my shoes and take off my socks.

"You're going to play in jeans?" asks a younger boy that I haven't met before.

"That's my younger brother Clay. You can borrow a pair of sweatpants of mine if you want," says Cole and I blush again as his eyes stare into mine waiting for an answer.

"No thanks, I am alright," I say and pull up my jeans. Cole shows me how to kick properly and how to dribble the ball between my feet.

"Alright I will be goalie and you try to score," says Cole and I set the ball on the ground and I gulp as he pivots from left to right. I close my eyes and kick the ball with the side of my foot.
