*8:30pm Tuesday August 22nd*

Hunter pulls up in front of a large house and parks in the driveway. "Let's go have some fun," says Adam and we get out of the SUV. I follow Cole and we walk inside. There is already dozens of people there and Neon Lights by Demi Lovato is playing through the speakers.

"You want something to drink?" asks Cole and I nod. We find the kitchen and Cole pours us both some fruit punch.

"Thanks," I say when he hands me the cup.

"Want me to introduce you to some of your future classmates?" asks Cole.

"Sure," I say and he smiles and we go back out to the living room where most of the dancing and stuff seems to be going on. He walks up to a beautiful curvy girl with long black hair and pale skin. She is standing next to another girl who has shorter blonde hair and bright green eyes.

"Hi ladies, this is Charlie. She just moved here," says Cole.

"Hi Charlie, it's nice to meet you. Where you from?" asks the blonde.

"Minnesota," I say and she nods.

"You like the hot weather?" asks the black haired girl.

"It's nice," I say.

"This is Maddie and Amanda," says Cole pointing first to the blonde and then the black haired girl.

"Why don't you leave her with us, go have fun birthday boy," says Maddie.

"Sure, see you later Charlie," says Cole and he squeezes my hand before walking away. I watch him go and turn back to Maddie and Amanda.

"So how do you know Cole Labrant?" asks Amanda.

"Uh, our sisters are friends and we work at the same grocery store," I say.

"Oh okay. So are you two like, dating?" asks Maddie.

"No, we're just friends," I say.

"Good call, there are some girls at our school that will not give up on him if you know what I mean," says Amanda.

"They're vicious," says Maddie.

"Does he not date?" I ask.

"No it's not that, it's just that he respects himself unlike some of our classmates," says Amanda.

"Where do you go to church?" asks Maddie.

"Uh no where right now, we just moved and haven't had time to find a church," I say.

"Are you Baptist because there is a really good church a few blocks from the middle school," says Maddie.

"No, I am not Baptist. It that going to raise something up too?" I ask.

"No, but it's most common around here. As long as you go to church you'll pretty much be fine," says Amanda. I make a mental note to find a church real quick.

"You're so pretty, what kind of face wash do you use? Your skin is like, perfect," says Maddie.

"Uh Olay, I think," I say. I sip at my punch and talk some more with Maddie and Amanda. They later introduce me to Kelly, Zack, Megan and Peter. Everyone seems really nice so far.

*11pm*

I am talking with Kelly about what classes that are offered at Charles Henderson High. I feel a hand rest itself on my back and I turn to see John Stephen. "Hey Cole is looking for you," he shouts in my ear to be heard of the music. American Girl by Bonnie McKee is now playing. I say goodbye to Kelly and go look for Cole, I find him on his phone outside on the porch.
