I woke up in an empty bed. With a sigh I sat up and looked around. Dyllan wasn’t in the room and I guessed sense it was Saturday that he was down stares waiting for me to get up and eat breakfast. So I threw the covers off and fixed them and headed out of his room without shutting his door. I heard them talking down stares and headed down slowly.

“She doesn’t know right?” I heard Ellie say. I stopped for a second to listen to what they were saying. I hid at the end of the stares and right by the entrance of the kitchen.

“No mother. She doesn’t know. But I can’t hide it from her that much longer. She had a dream about me. How am I to explain that? Her mind already knows this.”

“But she doesn’t. We still don’t know who her parents are and I don’t want to take any chances that her parents might be hunters.” I was confused at her words. My parents’ hunters?

“But she doesn’t even get along with her parents.”

“That’s what she told you son. But what if she is a hunter?” I heard his father say.

“I would know if she was a hunter. Her house smells like death, except her room.”

“That’s because she is yours, that's the only reason you think that.”

“No dad, that's not the only reason I think that. I think that because it’s true. She isn’t a hunter. Remember the first time she came over?  Charley liked her. Charley still likes her. I honestly don’t think Charley would have been nice to her if she was a hunter.” There was a sigh that I thought came from Dyllans father.

“And what if her parents are the hunters? What then? Are you just going to walk into her house and tell her parents that you’re a monster that they fear and hate?” I took a quick intake of breath. Monster? Dyllan was a monster? No, he couldn’t be. He was human, wasn’t he?

“Well this is a pleasant surprise.” I whipped my head around and saw Dyllans uncle come around the corner and walk towards me.

“What are you talking about, Austin?” I heard Edward ask from the other room. I hesitated one moment but that was enough. I tried to run but Austin grabbed me from behind and picked me up by my waist. I squeaked and tried to get out of his grasp.

“I found an ease dropper.” He said as we walked around the corner and into the kitchen. I looked up and Edward and Ellie had faces of shock while I saw Dyllan shaking as he looked passed me and at his uncle.

“Put. Her. Down.” Dyllan said in a voice I couldn’t understand coming from him. Austin loosened his grip but not enough for me to escape.

“Not until she tells us what she heard.” Edward said from behind Dyllan. I heard a deep growl come from Dyllan as he looked at his father.

“You can hold her then.” Ellie said back to Dyllan to calm him down. It seemed to work. Austin carried me over to Dyllan and Dyllan sighed with a sorry look in his eyes. As Austin set me down Dyllan quickly wrapped his arm around my waist. I calmed down in his grasp but I still wanted to get out of here.

“What all did you here, sweet heart?” Ellie said, as she got closer to me.

“Why does it matter?” I said. I tried to sound annoyed and mad, but it didn’t work, I sounded more scared than anything.

“Please answer her question.” Dyllan said with a plea in his voice. I sighed and relaxed.

“If I tell you what I heard what will happen to me?”

“Nothing, but you might need some things explained to you.” Dyllan said. His uncle seemed to want to protest but with one deep growl from Dyllan he backed down.
