Chapter one

"Ahhhhlaaaamooooomoooooooooooshimmmmmmmaaaaaaadingdong...." Your brother says, pretending to do who knows what. "What are you doing Bro?" You cut him off. "Noises." He replies. You both laugh and see that the video is about 20 minutes long. You both say your outros and end the video doing something funny. You get up from your chair, so does Denis, you get your father to proof watch it. Denis runs into his room. You here Corl's and Alex's voice but ignore it. After you got your father, he watches the video. He loves it and edits it. He posted it to YouTube and quickly it gained attention. "Bro!" You say laughing when he runs past you with Corl and Alex. "What is it Denise? Something wrong?" "No. I just wanted you to come over here." Your brother walks over and you hug him tight. "Thank you." You say. Your brother smiles happily. "What for?" He replies confused. "You always make me smile on sad days." Your brother hugs you tighter. You finally stop and you reach your hand out to slightly tap his shoulder. "Your it!" You say happily as you run away. Corl and Alex laughs and joins the fun. You played and talked with them for hours each day. Every week. Every month. Every year. For the future 11 years. Even though your interest changed, your brothers love was still there. So was his friends. They have now become yours too. College rolled around and Corl dated this one girl you and Denis both knew. Her name was Wendy. She was cute and funny. Nice and kind. The right lady for Corl. Denis, on the other hand had a girlfriend but she dumped him. He was devastated. This time you made him laugh. You joked and read fan fictions together. Some scary, some funny, some romantic, some just plane awesome. He went to bed afterwards to take a nap. A few minutes later you went to check on him and you saw him sleeping like a baby. 'Perfect' you whispered to yourself. You walked over and kissed him on the head. You quickly and quietly snuck out of the room. Oh how you loved Denis. He was your hero. Without him you weren't happy. You heard your phone ring as you got a call from Corl. "Hello?" You answered the phone politely. "Denise! Is Denis okay?! He wouldn't answer my calls!" Corl said frightened. "Yes Corl. He is just asleep. Why are you so on edge Corl?" 'He must have his phone on silent.' You thought to yourself. "Alex is hurt! Wake Denis up! Quickly!" "Okay Corl. Wait there." You hung up and rushed in the door of Denis's room. You woke him up and told him everything. "Let's go!" Denis said, rushing outside to the car. You grabbed the keys and drove down to the hospital. You saw Corl and Wendy waiting inside. You walked over and hugged Corl and Wendy. None of you said a word until you entered the room. "I was going over to see Denise and give her a present. This one guy pulled out in front of me and made me crash into him. Otherwise that, I'm okay." Alex said before we could ask what happened. "All I have is a broken arm. I'm still alive so." You start crying and sit on Alex's hospital bed. You try to apologize but he says it's ok. "No it's not! If you could have stayed away from that road, you would be fine! No broken bone!" You say, tears rolling down your cheeks. He grabs you chin and wipes your tears. "I'm alive aren't I?" He says. "Y...Yes." You manage to say. Denis whispers to the others that they should go outside the room. "Since I'm alive, that means I can give you my present. I think you'll like it." He says after they leave the room.
