Chapter 9: Dinner

"Annie, eat your broccoli." Mommy said to me sternly.
This time I knew not to sing at the dinner table. But that didn't mean I still hated broccoli.
"Yuck!" I said.
"Ew!" Hayley said. She was not a fan of broccoli either.
"Girls! Go up to your rooms!" Daddy scolded.
Hayley and I pouted, and dragged ourself to our rooms. I was playing with my telekinesis and lifted a book up and down, up and down. By this time, I knew what my powers were and how to control it. But I was striving to play with my powers, without people seeing me. Suddenly I had a brilliant idea.
I opened my window and jumped out. I was flying again. I saw Hayley's window and pounded on it. Hayley looked surprised but opened her window.
"Hayley, let's go outside at 11:30 and test out our powers. That way we will be able to sneak out and do it, and no one will see us." I said.
"Ok." She replied. "Let's also make costumes for ourselves so no one will really know." She continued.
"Great!" I said enthusiastically flying out of the window.
I spent hours working on my costume but finally it was finished.
