Dan's POV:

I shut my room door quietly, gazing at my black and grey sheets. This wasn't right. This couldn't be our ending. I didn't want to actually move, and Phil couldn't possibly want that either, right? We'd been flatmates for years. I instantly turned around and placed my palm on the doorknob to apologize, but hesitated. What if Phil wouldn't take it? What if I were to somehow make the situation worse? The severity of the situation was too high for those risks, so I got out some paper and wrote out a note to express my thoughts more effectively.

"I'll leave this for Phil tomorrow."

After this, I stuffed a suitcase full of some things I would need in order to move. I'd figure out the rest later. I wasn't moving permanently, but I figured Phil wouldn't want to see me for awhile. Who would? I slumped myself against the door. For some reason, I sensed a presence behind me. I hoped with all my being it was Phil, so I stayed for a few minutes. Eventually I got up and turned off my light. Immediately I heard the shuffling of footsteps and the sound of a door closing.
