Dan's POV:

Huh, casual. What did he have in mind? Nonetheless I was happy I didn't have to worry about my outfit, but I straightened my hair anyway. It was our first date, and obviously I still had to look decent.

"All right Phil, I'm ready!"

"Me too! I'm by the front door!"

I went to him as soon as I finished some last minute touches. He was wearing his blue Nyan Cat shirt. His sleek, black hair looked so flawless. It's as if he doesn't even try.

"So, did you pick where we were going in the last hour?"

"Yes, I did."

"Aww you procrastinated like me!"

"Oh no. I love you but I can't become a procrastinator like this on a regular basis! Anyways, let's bounce. I got an Uber set up."

"All right."

"I want you to close your eyes."

"The whole ride?"

"Yes. It's a surprise."

"The driver is gonna think we're weird."

"Dan, we're weird anyway."

"True. Let's head out then."

I closed my eyes to meet Phil's wishes.

"We're here, Danny!"

The ride felt somewhat short to me. Regardless, I stepped outside.

"Open your eyes."

I lifted my lashes to see the park.

Phil's POV:

"I hope you don't hate this idea. I figured the best place we could go was here. Simple yet...perfect. We've had a lot of great memories here, and I figured we could just walk around, talk, look at the evening scenery. Additionally, you don't have to spend any money. Do you like it?" "Please don't think it's stupid," I pleaded internally.

Dan smiled at me gleefully and held my hand.

"Phil Lester, you're a genius."

I let out a breath of relief. "I love you, Dan."

We strolled the park a bit, chatting about this and that. I never wanted this to end. Later on, Dan pulled me aside and we sat on the park bench.

"Beautiful day, isn't it?"

"Not as beautiful as you," I responded.

He wore a half-smile, then frowned.

"Phil, I've been meaning to tell you something."

"You can tell me anything. You've seemed down. I-I'm sorry for all the things I've put you through lately."

"No Phil, it isn't you. I'm not upset about any of that."

"Are you sure? It seems like you are and you're just hiding it. I feel terrible. I just hope you can forgive me sometime."

"Phil," he said sternly, placing his hands on my shoulders, tears falling down his cheeks. "I need you to listen to me. It's not you. The day the new baking video was uploaded, I called my dad about us. He...didn't approve. He told me if we took our relationship to another level, he wouldn't come to our wedding. I-I don't want this to change how you think of me. Of our relationship. Please don't break up with me. I don't want to ever lose you."
