I stood outside the Burrow, chains securely wrapped around my arms, chest and legs watching the sun set. Arthur, Molly, Ron, Fred and George stood in front of me, waiting.
Remus had come out earlier today, taking one of the sheds Mr Weasley had on the property and rigging it up just in case I would be turning tonight, before returning home to lock himself up.
"You can all leave, you know." I said, finally. "I'm not going to be able to break these, and if it does happen then you don't have to watch it. I wouldn't want you all seeing me like that."
"Cal, you were bitten by Lupin to save us. He clawed you up because you guarded us. You took that bite for Harry." Ron said. "You really think I'm going to leave you out here alone if anything happens?"
"I suppose not." I sighed, glancing down at my shackled hands.
I glanced around the dark sky, waiting for the moon to rise, feeling my heart pounding in my chest.
Suddenly, the moon light was cast across my face. And nothing happened.
I peeked my eyes open, yelping in joy. "I'm not a werewolf!"
Ron was the first the break out of his shock and run towards me, scooping me into his arms, despite the chains still wrapped around me. "Thank Merlin. You know, I was kind of prepared to sit here every full moon and feed you live mice."
I pulled back and frowned. "Live mice?"
"Well I don't know what werewolves eat, Callie! Besides people and unfortunately thats not on the menu." He explained, causing me to laugh.
"Come on, then. Let's get these chains off of you." Arthur said, coming up to me and unlocking all the chains letting them fall to the floor before hugging me tightly.
Molly rushed forward, shooing her husband out of the way before embracing me next. "Thank goodness you're alright, dear."
"I feel like I could fly." I grinned.
Fred and George suddenly swooped in, each bending down and hoisting me up so I was sitting on their shoulders.
I laughed loudly. "You two thickheads better not drop me!" I placed my hands on top of each of their heads, steadying myself.
"We'd never do such a thing." George said, feigning offence.
"Yeah! What kind of fools do you take us for?" Fred said in the same tone.
"Guys-" I started seeing us walking towards a large, swooping tree branch.
"I mean, I am personally offended that you would think-"
"That even for a moment-"
"Guys!"
"That we would allow any harm to become of you!"
"Guys!"
"I mean, honestly woman-"
"Oof."
Both twins turned as they felt me being jerked off their shoulders. I was dangling of the branch where it connected with my chest, both arms wrapped around it tightly to keep myself from falling.
"You were saying?" I groaned.
"Whoops. Our bad." They said in unison, lifting me down safely.
"You two will be the death of me." I groaned, rubbing my sore chest, where the impact of the tree branches caused my wounds to open slightly, causing little dots of blood to peak through my bandages I still had to wear.
"You two!" Molly scolded. "Get off the girl before you break her."
She grabbed me and yanked me into the house, opening my baggy flannel shirt I stole from George and beginning to peel away my bandages.
The slashes were angry red, some parts cracked open again at the impact of the tree. Molly sighed as she muttered a few spells to heal them as best as she could.
"Molly, its been three weeks. Can I please take my bandages off?" I frowned. "They're itchy."
"Well, what did Madame Pomfrey say before you left Hogwarts?" She asked me.
"I can take them off if they stop hurting."
"And have they stopped hurting?"
"Yes."
She raised an eyebrow.
"Unless I'm breathing. They only hurt when I'm breathing." I shrugged.
"You're keeping them on." She said sternly turning and walking away from me.
"You're keeping them on." I muttered in a mocking voice, walking into the living room as I buttoned my shirt.
"Take it off!" Fred catcalled from across the room.
I never halted my buttoning. "Don't make me hurt you, Fred."
"Kinky. Me likey." He grinned.
I finished buttoning the shirt and looked at him with a raised eye brow. "Do you kiss your mother with that mouth?"
"I'd kiss you with that mouth."
"You're unbelievable."
"Unbelievable in bed."
"Fred, stop!"
"Thats not what you'll be saying later tonight."
I burst out laughing at his antics. "I'm sorry, I just cant take you seriously when you talk about anything sexual."
He sighed. "Not the response I had hoped for, but oh well. I suppose thats what I get for not being the boy who lived."
I flung around to face him so fast I felt more of my wounds tearing. "What was that?"
"I see the gooey school girl look you get in your eyes when you see him."
"Shut up. It's a girl thing. Have to fall for someone your daddy won't approve of." I laughed.
"Well, you definitely chose right then."
For the rest of the evening, myself and the Weasley's sat around a fire outside, talking, laughing and telling stories, watching the full moon rise high into the night sky.
