Chapter 5

Sadie's P.O.V.

I was having fun talking to Kyle, when I glanced over at Lindsey, to see her staring at someone, her eyes were filling up with tears. I follow with my eyes to where she's looking, and almost drop my drink. There he stood, the guy who broke my best friends heart into a million pieces, for some stupid bitch.

I glare at him, balling my hands into fists " I'll be right back." I told Kyle, and he nodded. I started to walk over to Jayden, but Lindsey caught my wrist and pulled me to look her in the eyes, tears were already threatening to spill " Please don't go over there, I don't want to interfere with his life, he made it clear that he never wanted to see us ever again." I listened to what she said " Really? Your defending him?! After what he did to you, I'm gonna go over there and teach that ass hole a lesson!" I stormed off into Jayden's direction, ignoring Lindsey's protests.

I pushed my way through his group of friends and stood right at eye level with him " What the hell are you doing here?" Jayden stood shocked in front of me " What am I doing here? I threw this party, and I didn't invite you" I snorted and crossed my arms over my chest " Oh really" " Yeah and in matter of fact I-" I frowned when he stopped in the middle of his sentence, he stared at something in the distance, I glanced to what he was looking at.

Lindsey, as soon as she saw him look at her, she ran out of one of the main doors. Jayden started over there but I grabbed his arm harshly " Where the hell are you going?!" " After her!" He yelled " You've already hurt her enough!" He yanked his arm away and ran out after her.

Lindsey's P.O.V.

As soon as I saw Jayden turn and look at me I ran out one of the doors. I frantically searched for Sadie's car, but it was hard since my vision was blury from all the tears, I started to run the way I thought her car was parked, but stopped dead in my tracks by hearing my name from the voice I thought I'd never hear again. I started to run again but my hand was pulled back harshly by warm soft hands. " Lindsey, listen to me!" I turned to look him in the eyes. Nothing about him had changed, he still had those memorizing brown eyes, and perfect hair, he smelled slightly of mint, just like I remember. "I don't want to talk to you Jayden, just forget about me, it was easy for you before!" He seemed hurt by my words " Please Lindsey just listen to what I have to say! please!" Another hot tear rolled down my cheek, Jayden leaned up and tried to wipe away the tear but I pushed his hand away " Please Jayden just leave me alone." I said sadly, and with that I turned around spotting Sadie's car, once I reached it, I got in and slammed the door harshly, and hid my face in my hands, remembering something.

FLASHBACK

I was sitting In Jayden's lap, my head rested on his toned chest, face nuzzled in the crook of his neck. His heartbeat was slowly soothing me to sleep, is scent filling my senses, I smiled.

I was awakened slightly when I felt Jayden shift from under me, he slowly slid out from under my grasp, I frowned, still keeping my eyes closed, but snuggled back into the blanket on the couch. I heard muffled voices from the other room, not quite picking out what he was saying " Yeah, I know. She's asleep on the couch. I can't come over right now. Taylor please just-" I rubbed my eyes and look into the other room, Jayden was staring down at his phone brows furrowed.

I slowly got up and made my way of to him " Who was that?" I questioned. Jayden had a look of worry in his eyes " Uum.. Just my cousin, she was calling to see how I was." He said after gulping, fake smiling " Really?" Jayden nodded, turning his gaze to the floor, I lifted his chin up to meet my eyes " Jayden who were you on the phone with?" I asked getting slightly frustrated " None of your business Lindsey why are you so nosey!" Ouch that hurt "Really? It's none of my business Jayden, I'm your GIRLFRIEND! " He rolled his eyes at me. I scoffed and went to go and get my phone and car keys, and coat. Lately we haven't been getting along, I know I'm overreacting, but he's been getting in my nerves lately.

Jayden stormed in and asked " Where are you going?" I ignored him heading for the door, to retrieve my shoes. I pulled my coat on and took a look at Jayden, he was leaning on the door frame with a sad look on his face, he looked up at me and said " I'm sorry" I sighed " I think we need a break, ok?" Jayden looked up at me with hopeful eyes, I stepped closer to him and gave him a quick peck, but letting my lips linger there for just a little longer. I pulled back, leaving his apartment.

END OF FLASHBACK

I sat in the car crying even harder at the memory. I heard someone open the door and sit in the driver seat, knowing right away by her sweet scent that it's Sadie. " Lin-" " Can we please not talk about it, I just want to get home." Sadie sighed and nodded. On our way out of the parking lot, I looked out the window and saw Jayden going into his car, he turned and looked at me. I quickly looked away another tear falling from my makeup smeared eyes, this night was supposed to be fun.
