Skyrah fell to her knees, the dagger dropped and forgotten. Ziff stood by unsure of the situation. "Zhenya?" Skyrah's voice came out in a whisper. "What have you done?" Footsteps echoed down the corridor and stopped inside of the room. "Lord Zhenya- huh? The princess is here?" "It appears that she woke up General Bradwr." "Well, that will save an explanation but since she is now a witness you must quickly kill her." Zhenya looked down at Princess Skyrah. Tears were coursing down her cheeks and Ziff was nuzzling her face trying his best to comfort her. Zhenya lifted his sword.
CLASH! "It's the Thunder Beast!" "What are you doing Zhenya?! Are you okay princess?" Ziff had quickly taken a defensive position when the guards advanced towards them. Skyrah didn't move but Zhenya gave a shocking answer. "I killed the king." The fight went on. "Don't be ridiculous Zhenya. This in not the time for jokes!" CLANG! "I'm not joking Eryk. I'm going to take the throne and become the next king." "Unbelievable!" Eryk suddenly was filled with a sudden urge to protect the princess. He cut down the all the guards, took the princess's arm, and ran. Ziff followed and as they closed in on Skyrah's bedroom the met Dechtire in the hallway.
"Dechtire! The king has been murdered! Traitors are in our midst. Get the princess's emergency pack!" Dechtire ran and got Skyrah's pack then quickly ushered them into the secret passage way that only the King's family, princess's caretakers, and Eryk knew of. "We are safe for now but won't be for long. Stay here with the princess and Ziff. Don't make a sound. The king has been betrayed by half of his guard's including the general and Lord Zhenya." Eryk quickly ran through the hidden corridor to his room and grabbed his emergency pack and weapons.
A few minutes later he returned. "Thank you Dechtire. Are you going to stay here or is there somewhere you can hide?" "I'll stay here for when the princess returns and when our kingdom will be at peace." "You are a very brave woman." "Don't worry about me. I'll act like I was sleeping the whole time. Be safe." "You as well."
Dechtire departed back to her room and Eryk and Skyrah, along with Ziff, fled the castle. As soon as they were far away from the castle Eryk decided to take a break for the princess to rest. "We'll rest here for a bit." When he received no reply he looked at Skyrah. She had buried her face in Ziff's fur and was trembling. The clouds started gathering. Uh-oh. She's going to cry and a storm is going to-, rain started pouring down. Eryk heaved a sigh and went to comfort Skyrah. "Shh, shh. Everything will be alright. I'm here." Zhenya! You took away all of this precious person's world! I'll never forgive you for this!
Zhenya looked out at the rain and let out a sigh. Skyrah's crying. I wish it didn't have to end up like this but this is for the good of everyone. Sacrifices have to be made. "Lord Zhenya, we looked all over. The princess and General Eryk are nowhere to be found in the castle or the surrounding area. What are your orders?" "Leave them be for now. We have other matters to attend to." Run Skyrah. Keep her safe Eryk. I'm... sorry.
