"Have you ever been through Lorelei Pass Eryk?" "Once when I was young, my father took me before he left for battle." "Oh, that must have been very important to you then." "It was and is a special memory for me." "I see, your father was an amazing man and was very kind to me." Eryk nodded solemnly so Skyrah decided to change the to get back to the task at hand. "What did you see?" "Well my father and I went through Lorelei pass, we saw Abjini, we went through Apocrypha Amok and followed the Blaine Rhan, we saw Ekala Amr and Edlyn, then we climbed the Celestine Shan and reached the top where the Celestin Tarn is. We were able to see it all without any difficulty." "Wow! That's amazing. Very few people were able to just reach Lorelei Pass and even then, they turned back immediately! So far only kings have been able to get through. I think that you were destined to achieve that with your father." "I don't know, maybe." "Were you able drink the water from the Celestine Tarn?" "I was." "Wow. I only know that only kings have been able to drink from it. The king would take his heir there to drink from the 'Heavenly Mountain Pool' once the prince came of age. Then the prince's powers would become greater and strengthen. Father had some highly trained soldiers go get a vial of the water for me but instead on their way back, one of the soldiers drank it. He fell ill and by the time the soldiers finally got back he was dead. So the alchemists and forensic pathologists studied his body and the vial that contained a bit of water in it. It was decided that Vidal made to water especially for the kings to drink. I still never got to drink any of the water and father didn't know if he would let me since I'm female and no one knows what would happen. If you were able to drink it then, did your powers strengthen and become greater?" Eryk looked over at her and smirked, "very." Skyrah processed this new information for a bit and realized that the water was the reason that his powers were far greater than any other lord, lady, or general's powers. "That's amazing! I hope that someday I'll be able to taste the water from the Celestine Tarn." "You will someday." Ziff yipped reminding the two of his presence. "I wonder if the water works for spirit animals," Skyrah thought out loud. "How much longer till we reach Lorelei Pass Eryk?" "We are almost there."
It's been six days of travelling since leaving Aura. Going by foot would take a long time but because of their strong endurance they only stopped twice, once for a short rest and once to pick up supplies in Maoyi City. Even though they had to travel undetected, Eryk went through all the hidden shortcuts to travel faster. Skyrah also used her powers whenever they were in a tight spot. They both tried not to use their powers unless it was truly needed so that they didn't over exert themselves, especially if they needed their powers if they were in danger. Because of all the little tricks they used they were able to travel way faster than usual on foot.
"Let's stop here for a little princess. Then you and Ziff can rest." "How about you Eryk?" Eryk was planning on checking on Zhenya's coronation that was supposed to be taking place that day. But he couldn't tell Skyrah that or else she would want to go too. "I just want to check around to make sure that we aren't being followed." "Okay then. I will wait here with Ziff." "I won't be long because this isn't the ideal resting spot because there isn't a lot of cover for you to stay hidden." "Okay. Be careful." Eryk nodded and concentrated on his 'Aeroportation.'
Eryk rematerialized in the hidden meadow that Skyrah made. Coronations were usually hosted the throne rooms and then the celebration afterwards would be held in the ballroom. Eryk used his 'Air Mimicry' to transform into air and headed for the throne room.
"Got you traitor." After Zhenya's coronation Eryk reformed back to where Skyrah and Ziff were waiting on the border between Aura and Chama, only to be surrounded by the Fire Tribe's soldiers. "That's an interesting power you mastered," Lord Zayd was there talking to him while his some of his soldiers held the princess. Ziff was nowhere to be seen. "What do you guys want? Isn't it obvious that I'm not the bad guy?" Eryk spoke with a bored look on his face. "Stop your deceitful lies. You kidnapped the princess and now I'm rescuing her." "Can't you see that she wasn't kidnapped?" Eryk and Zayd looked over at Skyrah who was arguing with the guards. "I demand you let go of me!" All the the Fire Tribe's party was confused and didn't know what to believe. Zayd spoke first, "you probably threatened her to act that way or something. Who knows? All I know is that I have orders to take you into custody and bring the princess back safely to King Zhenya. Although I am not required to keep you alive either. Men, attack!" The soldiers advanced towards Eryk and Zayd held Skyrah who was struggling fiercely. The soldiers attacked.
