Chapter 2 A New Heir

"King Ryan, it is done." "And the queen?" "Dead." The king let out a sigh. "All candidates know this is the outcome to become queen and bear my heir. How is the baby? Is he healthy?" "Your majesty, there is a slight um, complication." "Is there a health issue?" "No your majesty! It's just that, well, it's a female sire and there are other, um, differences." "Female? That should not be possible. Go fetch her then Noreis so I may see and bless her." "Yes sire." A female heir? I have a baby girl who shall accomplish great things, for this situation should be impossible. What of those other differences Noreis spoke of? I shall have to see her. Vidal has great plans for her I'm sure. As soon as King Ryan finished his thought Noreis returned with the babe. "Here she is sire." "Thank you Noreis. Hmm, her hair is silvery-blue like life and water, eyes with reddish-brown for fire and earth. Her skin is pale like air but her blood is gold for her original bloodline of Life. She smells like the nature of the world. She has her gold and silver dragon insignia near her collar bone so she is, indeed, the heir." King Ryan paused, staring at the babes lower back. On her lower back was an emblem. It was the emblem for the kingdom of Faylinn with all of the different tribes. Located in four corners, forming the shape of a diamond, were the symbols for water, sky, fire, and earth. Surrounding them on the outside were the symbols for the hybrid tribes. The Bozez tribe's symbol was located between the Eade and Hydra tribes, Noele's symbol was located between the Hydra and the Aura tribes, Avull's symbol was located outside of Aura, the Usi's symbol was between the Aura and Chama tribes, Leura's symbol was located between Chama and Eade's symbols, and Kino Tuturu's symbol was on the outside of Eade's. And, in the very center of it all was the symbol for Jahari, the Dragon of Life. This is indeed the heir to Faylinn but it is displayed so boldly. This is no ordinary heir for sure, King Ryan thought."What shall be her name sire?" Noreis' voice brought King Ryan out of his thoughts. "Her name? Her name shall be Skyrah. Eternal life, strength, love, and beauty." "Very good King Ryan." "Noreis, I appoint you and Dechtire as her caretaker. The ceremony and celebration shall be held tomorrow and we shall have a burial for the queen today." "Of course sire. I shall take the princess now."

"Your majesty, shall we discuss the princess's upbringing today?" "Yes, that is very important. She must be trained in all the essential regular schooling but more advanced of course. Dancing and playing musical instruments are very important to learn. Etiquette and court is very important as well." "Shall she learn how to ride and and any outdoor activities your majesty?" "No Noreis, she is the princess and should be protected from the outside world at all costs. She will have to learn how to use her powers as well but I will take care of her training for that." "Of course your highness." "Well that is all for now. Any situations that come up during her upbringing we shall assess during that time." "Yes your majesty. When shall she start being educated?" "I suppose when she is two would be a good time to start. Where is the princess?" "She is with Dechtire at the moment, about to go to sleep." "Ah, okay then. Thank you Noreis, you may leave now." "Yes your majesty."

When Noreis left King Ryan was left to his thoughts. Skyrah's upbringing will be tough but if she's the one I think she is she will be able to conquer her challenges and gain victory. It's only a matter of time before she is one of the most powerful individuals in the land. Soon, with her education starting early, she will be very mature and intelligent for her young age and will be difficult. But I must prepare her sooner than anyone else because of her important lineage and because of how important she will be when she is older.
