I looked around me…..and

I saw nothing but books.

Books.

Books are the only thing that made me happy being imprisoned.

Yes. Ever since I was 7, I was imprisoned. My parents were killed because my father was hated by the governor. My father is actually the half-brother of the governor in our village. They hated each other so much that they could kill each other and feel nothing. But, the governor was more powerful. He had many guards protecting him. The governor ordered some men to kill my father and imprison me while my mother would be the slave of the governor.

But, it didn’t go as planned my mother wasn’t scared of those men. She tried to block them but, they had no mercy. They also killed my mother.

I ran away crying. I ran as fast as I could but, I was only a little girl being chased by men. They caught me and imprisoned me. I was imprisoned in village next to ours in a tower. It’s actually a library. It’s a tower of books. There were millions of books there and it was so high. I was always at the botanical garden at the top of the tower. I would get books and read it there. I liked it there, being able to read as many books as I can but, it was really lonely, being in a big tower all alone.

I always remember my parents and I miss them. As soon as I remember them, I start to cry, cry until I fall asleep crying….

Today is the day I’m finally got to get out of here. Since I’m already 21, I’m allowed to leave the tower. I couldn’t wait.

“Victoria, get out, you are now free.” Said the guard who always fetch me food and clothes. I’m going to miss him. “Finally.” I whispered to myself. “Go change your clothes.” He said as he gives me a dress.

I wore a light blue corset dress with a ribbon tied around the waist. It matched perfectly my dark blue eyes.

I walked slowly as I get out of the tower. As I step out the door I felt the morning breeze which made me feel so alive.

As soon as I got out, I immediately looked for a place to stay…….

I walked and walked and walked but there was nowhere I could stay in. I was too tired of walking and my shoes broke. Great! And so I left the shoes there and continued walking barefooted. Until, I reached a certain village called “ Adarona”. So I looked around the village and it seems like there were no people there, it was so quiet. I knocked on some houses but no one would answer.

Suddenly, it rained very hard. I ran to the nearest house and knocked. A beautiful girl with pale skin and green eyes opened the door. She’s so beautiful and had pale skin that I made me start thinking that she was a vampire.

She’s absolutely beautiful. “Can I do something for you?” she asked. I suddenly felt embarrassed “ Uhm… I don’t have a place to stay & it’s raining really hard and.” “Oh! So you need a place to stay?” I nodded. “If it’s not too mu-“I was talking but she interrupted holding my hand “Of course you could stay. I’ll be glad.” Her hands were really cold. Maybe because it was raining and it was cold. She’s really weird. Letting a total stranger in their home with even asking their name. But, at least I found a place to stay.
