‘How long has it been?’
I asked as my fingers took over playing with the hem of my blanket.
I afterwards scratched my temple as the itchy sensation of the bandage came back to my facial skin.
By the stink of the medicine, sound of a beeping machine nearby and the feel of the artificial coolness of the air-conditioning, I knew I am back here at the hospital.
Back to reality.
Back to blindness.
I woke up several hours ago and Alli’s presence in the room was enough comfort for me.
‘Almost three days.’
She replied.
I was genuinely surprised at that.
I never thought I’d slept that long.
It felt like it all just happened last night.
‘Does Greg know?’
I asked meekly…hoping for a ‘no’.
‘No.’
She replied.
‘But he’s very worried on why did you suddenly blacked out for almost three days without any concrete cause.’
I frowned.
I don’t want Greg to worry.
I don’t want him to risk his job just to look after me.
