2020- a/n: it's currently May 29th 2020 about 3 years after I wrote this book. I reread it the other day and realized the potential it still had. my writing wasn't as good three years ago so I couldn't help this story reach its full potential. so I've decided to give it a second shot. if you're coming across this book now you can choose to read it, or go find the other one on my account and read what will hopefully be an even better version of it. I love you all, enjoy ❤️

2017- a/n: I haven't wrote a goonies fic in a while so i thought it was time to write another. since the last time we saw eachother in this fanfic genre i had met sean astin the love of my life😍😍. anyways even meeting him he made a bigger impact on my life and i look up to this man with high respect. i may not agree with all of his ways but i still have his back because he's a great man. if he ever needed anything i would do anything in my power to help. anyways enjoy the book this is a couple years after the journey in the movie so enjoy. lots of love, ash❤❤

I drove quickly down the street not looking back. I felt so free. I was on top of the world. I had been driving for a while and it still felt exhilarating. My tiny car held almost everything I needed. The glove box held a miniature safe with every single penny I've saved since 13 years old. I slipped a CD into the player and Beach Boys filled the car. I wasn't quite sure where I was going but I knew I would end up somewhere I belonged.

The music swallowed me whole as I drove along a high road. It was a late afternoon and grey clouds filled the sky as tiny raindrops ever couple of minutes hit my windshield. It was to rain soon and I didn't mind at all. I just wanted to see everything I could. I want my freedom. For once in my life I needed freedom and I got it.

After driving for about 5 hours my stomach started to grumble. I knew I should have eaten before I left the house. I saw a small port down the end of the road and I kept driving into the small town. I saw a little diner and immediately parked grabbing my wallet. As I walked in there wasn't many faces but a young girl wiping the counter in front of two boys. I sat about 3 seats from them and smiled at the girl as I checked the menu. French toast seemed to really hit the spot right about now.

"How may I help you?" she appeared in front of me with a notepad. Her light brown eyes gazed into my hazel ones as I looked at the menu once more.

"Could I have some french toast, bacon on the side, and a glass of orange juice?" I asked and she smiled and wrote it down.

"That will be right up" she said as she hooked it to a small carousel above the window opening to the kitchen. She spun it around until the chef reached out and grabbed the order. I looked at the clock up on the wall to see it was about 7:40. I had left late last night and I must've not realized how much time actually did pass.

"So your an out of towner, where you from?" she asked returning with a large glass of orange juice.

"Idaho" I replied simply as I sipped the cold drink.

"So why you visiting a place like this?" she asked wiping the counter beside me and I shrugged.

"I don't know. It would help if I knew what here was" I said and she chuckled.

"Well honey your in the goon docks of Astoria Oregon" she said and I nodded simply smiling.

"It's cute" I replied looking out the window.

"It is quite rainy here and a bit small but that is what everyone loves about it. We're all friends and we all know we got each other. I know I'm not leaving" she said simply and I nodded.
