HANNAH'S POV
“...Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday happy birthday happy birthday, happy birthday to you!”
“Thank you guys! I love you all!” inabot ni dad yung debut cake na inihanda para sakin. And I started blowing all of the 18 candles.
“Happy 18th Hannah!” nakakatuwa talaga silang lahat. As in, yung dad ko, mga tito and tita ko, cousins ko, childhood friends ko, and my other loved ones. I really love them!
Niyakap ko sila isa-isa at nagthank-you. Pagkatapos, start na ng dinner.
Tumabi sakin si dad at niyakap ako. “Anak, masaya ka ba?”
“Yes dad. I just wished mom was here.”
“Di bale anak, binabantayan naman tayo ng mom mo. Kaya, just enjoy your debut today.”
“I will dad. Thanks.” tumayo siya ng biglang nag-vibrate yung cellphone niya.
“Hannah, malapit na sila Dionisio. Susunduin ko na muna sila sa may gate. Papapuntahin ko sila sayo mamaya.”
“Okay dad.” lumabas na si dad ng gate. Nagmuni-muni na muna ako.
This day, I'm finally 18 years old. Legal age na ako. Simple lang naman ang debut celebration ko. With close friends and family. Kinakabahan lang talaga ako mamaya. I don't know what they will think. You know?
Si dad and Tito Dionisio kasi, they requested me and Dylan to act like natural newly-engaged couple. Mas mabuti daw kung hindi namin ipaalam na arranged marriage lang 'to to avoid further complications.
