Chapter 12: New Home?

Renae's Pov

I watched closely as we pulled into the drive way from the woods. This place was no house, no mansion. This was a castle.

I immediately climbed out of the car as everyone else did. David walked over and kissed my forehead. Before he walked off he whispered in my ear.

"Stay close to Taveon. Please. I don't know exactly how the King and Queen feel but they did not sound too pleased over the phone."

I nodded slowly and hugged him as if it was the last time I'd ever see him.

He walked off towards the front double doors and I followed Taveon and Jackie to a back door that you wouldn't even know was there.

"Taveon how do you know about the door?"

"David and I grew up here."

"Wait I thought you said he was on the phone with your parents earlier?"

"Yes, I did."

"He said he was on the phone with the King and Queen. Why wou-" woah woah woah. Wait.

"Taveon are you and David royalty?!"

"Yes, now keep your voice down, we're sneaking in."

David's POV

I walked to the throne room feeling nervous as hell. I don't ever let my parents in on my life. The fact that I even mentioned Renae to them is out of character for me. Maybe I'm already loving her. Maybe she's the one and my body felt it. I've been doing things that are not like me since I met her.

"David."

"Yes my excellency."

"Boy you ought to be hang for this treachery! A human?! And you thought to bring her here?! Tell what idiot have you bitten that infected you."

"None father. I love her. I want to be with her. I need to be with her. She is my beloved."

"What had you on the run from California?"

"Archedilles, Father. He sent out a few men to send me a warning. They approached Renae and threatened our lives."

"Is this 'Renae' character with you?"

"Yes, Father."

I peaked up from my kneeling position to send a smile to my mother. As a young child this is how my brother and I always greeted her, my father did not like for us to speak with her. He wanted us to be raised as men. She smiled back just as Father finished his pondering and demanded me his request.

"Bring her into here. Now begone, don't comeback until she's with you."

"Yes Father." I rose slowly with my head bowed and turned to walk out.

"Wait! David, it's great to see you dear."

My mother's voice. It so angelic. I turn with my head bowed and nodded towards her.

"You as well Mother."

I turned and left quickly and rushed to my old bedroom.

I burst in to find Renae on my bed. She looked so peaceful laying there. I looked up to her eyes to find her staring back at me.

"The King and Queen would like to meet you. Taveon I don't feel comfortable just the two of us going so would you and Jackie mind joining us?"

"Of course." He and Jackie rose off the floor from their game of Slide and walked out the door in front of me.

"Come on love. It's time you met my parents."

She smiled gently and slowly walked to me. Intwining our fingers I walked out the door hand in hand with her.
