Sadie's sleep was empty, she didn't dream. Her mind was too weak to create anything. Instead she lay in complete darkness, the occasional vision interrupting it. She could hear the echoes of past conversations and ones being held just outside of her closed eyes. She knew she couldn't sleep forever, but she didn't want to wake and face what was wanting to take her life and toss it outside the window. She settled her thoughts and drifted, but she soon found out that the longer she stayed in that darkness, the more it moved, the more it whispered. It mocked her and criticized her. It tried to drag her deeper and suffocate her. She whimpered and they just held on tighter as she struggled. A large head loomed from the darkness, the head of the monster from her house, it's one eye burning with pleasure. It opened it's mouth wide, tar dripping from its teeth-like opening, and she screamed as the jaws closed around her. Her eyes flew open and she sat up, her breath quick and forehead wet with sweat. She instantly felt nauseous and fell back on the mattress, trying to stop the room the was spinning. She was alone in the room, the room she had first woken up in. The lights were off, candles being the only light source. The soft lighting helped Sadie to calm down and she sighed, the flame of the candles dancing slightly.

"She can't do this, Sadie is not a warrior!" a muffled yell came from the other side of the door. She frowned slightly, sitting up.

"Do you really think I don't know that Henry?!" someone else answered. Sadie quickly crawled off the bed, curious to see what the outcome of this conversation was, and leaned against the door, her ear pressed against the wood.

"What else are we going to do? Monsters will be streaming over here to get rid of her!" a softer voice interrupted, sounding like Jenny.

"But she can't go fighting a bunch of them in order to save humanity." the previous person answered, clearly Sam as she heard the sound of a chain being played with.

A huge groan passed through the smooth wood against Sadie's cheek, "This is insane! Sadie can't fulfill the prophecy, but we can't just keep her in hiding either." Henry's torn voice had Sadie thinking. She sat back and hummed. What were they going to do? She definitely didn't want to fight against a bunch of monsters. Hiding sounded like a good plan, but that would be putting the others in danger at the sound of it. She slowly crawled back to her mattress, the topic still on her mind. As she settled back down, the door opened and Jack came running in.

"Sadie, are you okay?" He asked. He was dragging Pang along, who looked a bit more comfortable with him. She was clearly still wary of her, as she stayed a bit farther away from her than Jack did.

Sadie smiled at him, "I'm...still alive." She said softly, rubbing the side of her head, "I'm not liking this prophecy..."

Jack nodded, "You and me both. Our older siblings are fighting over what to do. It's scaring Pang." Pang opened her mouth to say something, but quickly shut it. Jack smiled and nudged her, "You're doing great." Pang smiled slightly at him.

"What do you think we should do?" Sadie asked, wanting his opinion on the matter.

Jack punched the air, "Those three should just kick those monsters out of here and chase them back to their world!" He continued to attack the air, causing Pang and Sadie to both laugh.

"I don't think that's going to work..." Pang said softly, avoiding Sadie's gaze.

Sadie sighed, feeling hopeless, "Yeah...they're outnumbered and those monsters are way too powerful..." She grabbed her blankets, suddenly feeling cold, and wrapped them around her. She stared at the dancing shadows, Jack's voice mingling with her confused thoughts.

"It's too dangerous. We can't even overcome them." Sam stated as he walked in, looking tired. He looked at the three small children, all looking back at him with worried stares. He drew in a small breath and huffed, biting his thumbnail as he looked away. Sadie looked at Jack, who was also doing that same thing, and shrugged.
