Chapter 15

Kara's pov.

Alright. I just need to show him what he's messing with, but how? Get a fake boyfriend and make him jealous? That might not work because he doesn't even like me so he wouldn't get jealous. Maybe a makeover will have him falling for me? That's it! Make him fall in love with me and then stomp on his heart until it can no longer be stomped on... That sounds like a reasonable plan.

"It's worth a try." I mutter to myself as I put on the finishing touches on my makeup.

"Kara, I made breakfast! Come and eat while it's still hot!" My dad yells from downstairs. "Be down in a minute!" I check over my outfit to make sure I look good and head down.

"Yummm, homemade cinnamon rolls." I say while sitting down at the island. Dad puts some on my plate for me. I barely get out a thank you before I start devouring the rolls.

"Someone was hungry." Dad says laughing. "I forgot to eat dinner last night." I say. I check the time

"I'm gonna be late for school! By dad love you." I say as I grab my keys and run out the door. I pulled into the school parking lot and got out. I saw Claire so I went to catch up with her.

"Hey, Claire!" I yell out she turns and smiles "Hey." She says as I walk over to her "Did you hear about what happened yesterday with Ash?" I ask her "No, Grace never said anything to me. What happened?" She stops at her locker so I fill her in.

"No Ash did not." She gasps. "I know I was livid. I may or may not have punched him." I say sheepishly "Whaaaatt." She laughs. "That's great." I see Ash and decide to follow him "Come with me." I drag Claire.

We follow him to the gym where no classes are going on for another hour. What's he doing? Claire and I go through a separate entrance so he won't spot us and crouch behind the line of trash cans peaking through the cracks.

"Alright I have another task for you." A familiar voice says coming down from the bleachers. My mouth drops. I look at Claire "oh my god" I mouth to her. She looks just as shocked as me

"And don't think I forgot about the favor I owe you for embarrassing Kara like that." Grace smirks.

"But for now I want you to ruin her although we'll start small for now. At lunch I want you to do something in front on everyone. Trip her, spill your food on her, act as if she payed you to do anything to her because she was just sooooo desperate. I don't care just make sure everyone sees her. Meet me at the usual place." She winks and leaves.

Is that why she broke up with her boyfriend? And her outfits aren't her usual leather jacket and combat boots. Wait what. Why is that the first thing I think of when she's trying to ruin me?

Ash walks out a couple minutes after her. Claire and I get out from behind the trash cans. "Oh my gosh. I can't believe that just happened." I say

"Let's just go to first period and avoid going to lunch. After school we'll follow either Grace or Ash." Claire suggests. I nod "Sounds like a good plan."

I continue my day like normal Grace has talked to me a few times and it's so weird, knowing that she wants to ruin me and yet she's so good at acting like we're still the best of friends. I feel betrayed but as of now I have the upper hand, she doesn't know that I know and I need to keep it that way. I can't let her realize that I know so I have to pretend that everything is okay and force fake laughs.

The bell for lunch rings, Grace looks excited. "Why do you look so excited?" I laugh but really I'm livid. "Oh, uh, I just heard that the lunch today is supposed to be really good." I just nod and start walking "Oh! You know what I left my lunch in my locker I'm going to grab it real quick. I'll meet you guys in lunch?" I ask Grace and Claire

"Oh well let us go with you." Grace suggests. "Actually, I wanted to show you something that I saw he other day in the cafeteria." Claire says quickly. Grace looks confused but agrees "Okay. But hurry up Kara." She says.

Wow. She just wants to see me get ruined. I can't go into the lunch room. I know as soon as I do Ash is going to do something. I can't let them win at some sick game that Grace is trying to play.

"Hey dad." I say smiling "do you think you could call the school and check me out, I'm not feeling well." I say. He agrees and hangs up. I go to my locker and put the things I don't need in it and get a few of my books that I need for homework. I walk up to the front desk

"Excuse me." I say to the lady "I'm supposed to have a check out."
"Okay sweetie what's the name?" She says ready to type on her computer.  "Kara Thompson"
"Ah yes right here. Okay you're okay to leave. Have a nice day."
"You too" I say pushing the doors open. I text Claire 'Hey ended up leaving. Don't feel good :( xx" I send to make it a little more believable for Grace.

"Hey sweetie, your dad said you were coming home because you don't feel good. Are you okay?" She asks me. "I don't know mom." I go to give her a hug, standing there in her embrace for awhile.
"What's wrong sweetie? You can always tell your mother." We go into the kitchen and she makes me some hot cocoa to make me feel better.

I explain everything to her, about how Ash was my bully, how Grace is apart of it all and how she's trying to sabotage me.
"Oh my god. I am calling her mother right now. She has no idea what's-"
"Mom, mom, Please don't. Not only do we have no evidence for anyone to believe us I also want to try and get ahold of this myself." I say grabbing her hands.

"We can have a mother-daughter date if you want." I smile "Now that sounds like a plan." She goes upstairs to get changed. I text Claire "If u don't mind can u follow Ash or Grace one? And if u do try to record or tape it. Just don't get caught!!" I send the the text and put my phone in my purse.

"Ready?" Mom asks. "Yes, I need to get my mind off all this drama. Where to?"
"It's a surprise." She says smiling.
