An interview with calligraphics

Since it's holiday season, how have you been enjoying your days?

I've spent most of winter break binge reading and watching Christmas movies from Hallmark movies to 25 Days of Christmas on Freeform. Of course, I've also spent a lot of time writing and planning future stories. My family is also coming up for a couple of days. We always have a lot planned, so that should be fun!

The Rapid Fire

When is your Birthday?

My birthday is March 22nd. It's technically spring, but it always feels like winter where I live.

The best thing in your life

The best thing in my life would have to be my family and friends. That's probably one the most generic answers, but I can always count on them to support me.

Would you rather

Would you rather have your book published but now have as much readers as your expected or write on wattpad and have millions of readers?

I would rather write on Wattpad and have millions of readers. My dream is still to be published and see my work on bookshelves one day, but knowing that my writing has reached millions of persons is more than enough. At this point, I just want to share my writing.

Would you rather always have to say everything on your mind or never be able to speak again?

I would rather always say what's on mind, because I believe that there's so much power in language. Holding conversations not only over text but in person is simply too important.

Would you rather know when you are going to die or know how you are going to die?

This one was a hard  one! I would rather know how I would die because I would hate to live life feeling pressed for time. Our lives are already limited. But in all honesty, what if I find out that I'm going to die because of my clumsiness? I could totally trip over a banana peel (haha)

Explanation Segment

If you were given a chance to publish one of your book which one would it be and why?

I was given the opportunity to publish one of my books, I would probably save the opportunity for a story that has yet to be published anywhere. I've been playing around with this story in my head for a long time now and have a couple chapters written out and outlined, but if we're only talking about what I have published, I would publish the King Effect because I'm actually satisfied with how the chapters are turning out.

What is the most different quality of your that most of the authors on wattpad don't have?

I think what makes me different from most authors on wattpad is my background in poetry. I've always been a fan of spoken word, so I'll always jump at the opportunity to slip a little bit of poetry into prose.

If you have to describe life in three words what would it be and why?

It's times like this when all the words in my vocabulary seem to disappear in the blink of an eye, but for me, life is unpredictable, bittersweet, and infinite. I'd like to believe that life is very much like a roller coaster ride -- where the thrill and highs balance out the lows. The opportunities out there are endless if you're willing to step out of your comfort zone and look for them! There's a reason we don't have every detail of our lives planned out.

Do you wanna throw a shoutout to anyone special? Any friends? Haters? Favourite reader or author?

There have been so many people who have inspired me on here in countless ways. I can't even begin to list them all, but I've actually gotten to be good friends with some of them. I'm so thankful for everyone who has glanced at my writing here and there!

What do you have to say about all the hating going around on wattpad? We can see a lot of amazing authors leaving Wattpad because of this. What's your opinion? How do you handle the haters?

It saddens me that we live in a world where there are people willing to go out of their way to make someone feel worse about himself/herself. It doesn't cost anything to be nice, or at the least, civil. I think the best way to handle hate is to focus on the love you've received instead. Love is so much more important than hate.

Last but not the least are you on Santa's naughty list or nice list this year?

Considering I spend a good chunk of my time binge-watching TV shows on Netflix and writing, I think that makes me a relatively "nice" girl. But who knows what's going to happen within the next twelve months? It's a new year, and anything can happen!
