She lets go. I snatch the cigarette out of her hand and leave the room. I go into the part of the cabin I actually live in and smoke the rest of it. I smoke because I don't want to cut or burn myself. Smoking helps to calm me down. I continue to smoke the thing until nothing is left. Now I have to go give Jacob his first assignment.
I take something out of my closet and go to his room. He looks at me with fear in his eyes.
"Alice, what are you doing with that? Please don't hit me with it." I look at Jacob and can't help but to laugh at him.
"You think I'm going to hurt you with this whip? You're dead wrong." I hand him the whip. He looks at it with confusion, then his eyes get wide.
"No. Alice, no. I won't hit you with it."
"Jacob, do it. Don't make me have to threaten you." he begins crying. He's actually crying. I didn't see this coming at all.
"No. I refuse to." He throws the whip to the ground. My jaw literally drops. He threw the whip to the ground. He actually does care. But I still don't want to hurt myself. I need someone else to do it for me. And I can't let him leave or else he might tell someone what happened.
I pick up the whip. "If u won't whip me, then I'll have to hurt myself won't I?"
"No Alice. Please stop hurting yourself. I don't want you to do this. No one does. Please stop. And don't make me have to hurt you. This is sick. This is sicker than you hurting yourself. Just please, stop hurting yourself and let me go and I won't tell anyone about this."
I look at him. I feel tears welling up in my eyes. He truly does care about me. "Alice, please, end this all. Just stop. Please. I care. I don't want you to do this." I collapse onto the ground and then look him in the eyes. Only one word comes out of my mouth.
"Liar."
