"Dad! What happened?!" I choked back tears.
"You have to go, they are coming for you.." he whispered."I'll be fine, I promise..."

Life isn't fair. Not just for me but the people who took the one person that forged in me the will to live, too figh...
The first sound I hear is the crackling if fire. I don't open my eyes. An ancient, deep, soothing voice echoes through my head as the locket heats up. "Don't trust anyone,"the voice fades as I slip unconscious.
****** I slowly peel my eyes open groan. Where am i?The cold, stone floor digs into my sore back. Forcing myself into a sitting position, I look around. A small fire cast shadows on the cave. What happened, how did I get here...then the events cone back to me. Dad! My throat hitched. And the voice, was it a dream... "Here's some water," a teenage boy with shaggy, dirty blonde hair appeared. I scooted in the farthest corner of the cave and gave him a weak glare. Studying him I croaked, "who are you"? "Glad you're awake! I'm Carter and you're ankle seems to heal all on its own," he nodded at my leg. I forgot about it. That's wierd, I frowned. All traces of the injury when I fell where gone. Carter coughed awkwardly,"so, do you want some water"? I nodded not trusting my voice. My throat still felt raw and scratchy. Scooting towards the fire, I grabbed the canteen from his hands. I greedily gulped down the cool water which soothed my parched throat. putting the canteen down i wiped my mouth with my sleeve. "Ivy," I nodded. "What"? He asked. I hesitated, should I trust him. I remembered the unusual voice and the locket that heated up. Well, I need help to find my father and maybe I could get answers. "My name is Ivy, " I repeated. "Well nice to meet you ivy, care to tell me what happened?" I nervously looked at him from the corner of my eye. "Its a long story." "I have time," his eyes twinkled with curiosity. I fidgited with my silver locket, and looked closely at it. I don't remember the engraving of a flame on the locket? "Fine," I finally said. "But you have to tell me what you were doing in this part of the mountains, And also about the fire that's why you came, I'm assuming." I watched him closely, He hesitated. His Adam apple bobbled as he swallowed. "Ok, I guess that would be fair, but for now I will let you rest." "That's ok, I don't feel very tired. How long was I out"? "About a day," Carter answered. "Okay, I'll keep first watch, and add kindling to the fire. You get some sleep." "But I"! -- he yawned then mumbled,"Okay." I rested my chin on my knees and hugged my body. Outside the entrance, it was dark except for the moon that cast pale shadows in the mouth of the cave. Only a lone wolf howled in the distance, disturbing the deathning silence. of the mountains.
Heyy, Sorry it's been a while. So, I am still working on finding a picture of Carter. But for now, this shall be Carter :)
