The Desmond's are very well-known in the city of New York. Not only is their real estate company one of the most trusted and requested but Robyn Clara Desmond, the daughter of C.E.O. Marcus Desmond, is at the top of her game amongst her colleagues and is only improving furthermore.

PRESENT DAY
In her secluded office, Robyn flipped through some important documents and took notes on the side, up till a loud knock on the door startled her.

"Ugh. Yes, come in," she grumbled before arranging her desk a bit, "what is it?" When she finally pulled her sights away from the paperwork in front of her, she realized it was her father who decided to grace her with his presence.

Not really.

"That's how you greet your father after not seeing him for a full month?"

She rolled her eyes at his audacity before slightly slouching in her chair and giving him her full attention. "Why, hello dad how was your supposed business trip?" she asked condescendingly knowing all too well he was probably off hooking up with some sluts along the way or even maybe the whole time.

"Robyn please," he spoke calmly, surprisingly, as he walked in direction of the window to observe the city's night lights, "you're anger with me needs to be put aside at work. How many times have I told you this?"

She filled out some more blank spaces and ignored him causing Marcus to let out a sigh.
"I wanted to personally inform you that as of tomorrow you're going to be on Mr. Kingsley's case that Naomi was handling. So you'll be showing him some basic properties to see what his-"

"Oh the one that that whore of yours had? Yeah I've been told and don't worry, I know how to do my job quite well thank you very much. If that's all, I'll see you tomorrow." Robyn didn't even bother giving him anymore of her time. He should know that she has no viable time to spare since he constantly pressures her to always succeed. She honestly just wanted to be left alone so that she could finish the remainder of her work and join her best friend for dinner like she had promised.

"Robs!! Omg I haven't seen you in forever!"

Both girls shared a warm hug before taking their seats.

"I'm sorry I'm late Harley, I was finishing up the rest of my paperwork for the day so that I-" realizing that she was going to babble she stopped herself, "The last thing you wanna hear is me talking about work", she giggled while browsing through the menu.

"Actually not this time."

Robyn popped her head up in shock since this is probably the first time ever she's taken interest in her work.

"Why's that?"

"Well it's been sorta buzzing that you're family's company is helping Dean Kingsley open up his new nightclub here in NYC."

"Oh." Carelessly returning her sights onto the menu, she tried to suppress the fact that Harley was only interested because of some guy. "Yeah it's true- Wait why is this 'buzzing' around? He's just a regular client."

The waitress took both females orders before her flabbergasted friend continued.

"Just a client?? Robyn do you know who he is?"

"Clearly not as much as you do."

Deflecting her unconcerned tone she furthered, "He's one of the hottest and most talked about person right now. Everyone knows where the hype is when he's in town. He throws and hosts crazy parties with major celebs all the time."

"I know Harley I was being sarcastic..after all Matthew is in the same business as him. He would ramble on about how they didn't get along."

"Sorry... But to top it all off, he's incredibly dreamy and sexyy."

Still neutral, Robyn took a sip of her drink and voiced her thoughts, "It's as if you've already met him."

"Only once. It was actually last week but briefly."

"How'd that go?"

"He mostly stayed in the V.I.P. section of the club I was at with Drew."

"Drew? As in Andrew? The ex-boyfriend Andrew? Wow I've missed a lot huh," Robyn sighed.

"Yeah..but we aren't quite back together yet. He still has some work to do so I'm testing out the waters and making him work for it."

The gals giggled since they both knew how difficult she could be at times, just before Robyn's phone chimed.

"He thinks a quarter million dollars will fix things? Ha."

"Helloo? Earth to Robyn?" Hayley waved her hand in her childhood friend's face, trying to grab her attention back.

"Sorry, just got distracted. What were you saying?"

"I asked if you have a new boo or something? You know ever since the Ayah and Matt situation?"

Interrupting them for only a short moment, the waitress returned with their meals.

"Nope. I don't have the time nor the will for a broken heart. Love is overrated."

"Come on don't say that. Not everyone is a bad one. You just have to bet your luck"."

She reached for her alcoholic beverage and observed her companion who tried convincing her about this subject.

"Matt cheated on me with my other ex, Ayah. I don't see where I have any luck in that mix. And I fancy both sides."

"No matter how much you liked him, I always told you that you and Matthew didn't click. And Ayah, she just wasn't anything serious. You just need to find someone who matches with you and where you are at this point in your life."

Robyn picked at her food now losing her appetite from pondering on her unfaithful exes.

"You're only twenty-six years old, don't give up just yet."

"I haven't given up. I just..haven't started looking."
