"Robyn before you go, don't forget that there's a meeting tomorrow morning at nine" "Yeah thanks i almost forgot. Oh before i leave, has anyone left any messages?"
Pushing her hair out of her sights, she arranged her desk as neat as she could while awaiting for Tyler's response.
"About twenty minutes ago a family member of yours by the name of Jordan Calvin, called saying that she'll meet you at her parents house" "Why would she- Shit. Never mind."
Rolling her eyes at the fact she completely forgot about the dinner her uncle practically forced her to agree upon, she thanked him and said her goodbyes before grabbing her purse and exiting her work premises.Letting the cool breeze connect with her skin, she breathed the fresh NYC air in and out of her lungs. This was her favorite time of day, when the sun was setting and her favorite city's lights began shining bright like a diamond.
Amazed by her surroundings as if this was her first ever visit, she walked down the street with the intentions of catching a cab, only to be met with a recognizable 6 feet tall, caramel looking man leaning against his matte Camaro from across the street.
Putting out his cigar, he flashed that extremely charming smirk of his causing her to practically want to jump his bones right then and there.
"Good evening gorgeous" "Hey? What are you doing here? Something wrong with legitimization of the properties?"
Robyn asked Dean clueless to his real intentions in relation to this unexpected appearance.
"You were on my way so thought i'd give you a ride."
His eyes were hidden by his dark tinted Rays Bans therefore she couldn't notice if he were being serious or not. With the catastrophe of yesterday, she didn't expect to see him so soon..
"I just remembered i have plans, like thirty minutes away from here. Doubt you'd want to drive that far away and back", she pouted. "It's not an issue."
Her male companion lead her to the other side as he held the car door open awaiting for her to enter his precious vehicle. It'd already been ten minutes since she'd punched in her uncle and aunt's home address on his GPS. They made small talk but nothing relating to yesterday's event..yet. Though, she had observed the redness on his right hand knuckles. She figured if he didn't push the subject she wouldn't either even if the curiosity would most likely eat her alive.
"So are you going to tell me the real reason you popped in on me?" "I wanted to check on you. In person. The texting wasn't sufficient."
Dean eyed the beauty next to him for an instance through his shades before bringing his sights back onto the road sensing that her gaze never vanished.
"Hmm..okay. Well, i'm fine so you didn't have too" "I'm going to be honest. I went to pay him a visit, after i left" "You did what?? Why would you do that?"
She stirred in her seat sensing a bad feeling brewing in the pit of her stomach with the words that so casually flowed from his mouth.
"I specifically told you not to say anything" "And i did just that. I simply let him know that if he has any further issues, he is to deal with me" "You've probably just made things worse.. How could you be so reckless?"
Hearing the quietness of her voice and familiar anxiousness radiate off her tone made him uneasy. The damage the coward had clearly done to her irked his soul to the core.
"Did you expect me to let him be? We work in the same domain and whether i like it or not i will see him regularly. He needed to be confronted about his recklessness" "I didn't ask for a fucking bodyguard or your assistance."
She spat with a instinctive eye roll resulting in him tossing his sunglasses aside, trying to remain as neutral as he could aware that this was her defence mechanism talking.
Dean had to take this conversation another route having that at that moment it was surely heading south. His intentions weren't malicious..or were they..though, she couldn't deny her curent frustration.
"We talked. We've come to an understanding. He's not going to bother you anymore" "How do you know he won't? He never stays away for too long.." "I dare him to get anywhere near what's mine without a dispute. Matthew is not laying a finger on you."
Glaring at him with her lips pursed together, she fought the urge of laughing in his face at his newly found possessiveness, at the same time a sense of relief washed over her.
"Hold on, hold on, 'what's mine'? For one, this isn't the nineteen twenties. Two, i don't recall ever making this official?"
She teased knowing deep down they'd most likely end up together one way or another.
"We both know i'm more than just a friend. You are tired of lies and i'm tired of our games. Your games" "Don't have to get all serious jeez. It's only understandable that you want all this to yourself."
She joked shyly with a hand gesture showing off her body, trying to be somewhat conceited in the given moment, that she personally thought wasn't so great but in his eyes it- she was breathtaking. The previous tension seemed to have faded away with a new aura now brightening the mood.
"But seriously, we'll need to work on your seriousness level, you're so unreadable at times" "It's settled then" "Mhm whatever", Robyn cheesed, he grinned. "That was harder than i imagined but i guess you're worth the effort."
Robyn slapped his chest during the time he glanced at the rear mirror and chuckled at his final way of labelling them.
"Of course i am! Who do you think you are?" "Your boyfriend, your mate, your lover whichever you choose."
She tittered with a short shake of her head just as he brought his hand to rest on her thigh, slowly furthering himself from her knee.
Despite their little disagreement, she felt like she was back in high school with the way her heart always seemed to flutter in his presence along with, her cheeks reddening at the firm contact..and maybe also at the fact that they were officially, official.
Not like they hadn't been sleeping at the others houses or with one another, hanging out outside of work related matters and doing most things couples do anyways right? No never...Halted in the driveway of a two-story suburban home, Robyn touched up her makeup while her boyfriend took a quick call from someone who appeared to be an associate. Putting her makeup kit back in her purse, she pulled out her shades, preparing to walk out.
"What i drive you all the way out here and not even some sort of thanks?" "With the stunt you pulled... You'll have to be forgiven first for the type of thanks you want."
She added sassily causing him to suck his teeth. Giving him a last look, she sighed feeling a tad bad before she kissed his lips by pulling him in with a gentle hold on his jaw.
"I'll text you later Pretty Boy" "Counting on it."
