Courtesy of Marcus, every end of a month he selects a date where there's a gathering/small party amongst his employees and their most liked or popular clients. It was sort of a type of tradition he had forced onto them. A tradition that Robyn grew to hate since that is how she met her ex-beau.

In the past year, Robyn could count on one hand how many times she's attended. Nevertheless, tonight she was breaking that streak. Not without the company of her practical sister, Harley, of course.

"Why exactly do I have to drive? This is your car and you're the one who invited me," Harley complained when they finally pulled out of the parking lot of Robyn's condo.

Robyn was too preoccupied in touching up her makeup with her pocket miroir to even care in providing a huge explanation having that she already knows the reason.

"Stop complaining. You know for a fact that I don't like driving cuz of Arion. We're almost there anyways, just follow the GPS," she ordered with her MAC lipgloss in hand.

"You're soo paying me back for this."

"For all the times I've picked you up drunk and hysterical at some club? This is you paying me back so shut up and drive!" pausing, Robyn eyed her as Harley giggled knowing that she was in fact getting under her skin.

"It's so easy pissing you off, it's fucking hilarious."

Both stunning females waltzed into the private bar laughing at whatever they were previously talking about, until someone grabbed onto Robyn's arm. She stared at the awkward contact then up at the figure, who's identity was nonetheless her father.

"I wasn't sure if it was you. The last time you came to one of these was forever ago," was genuinely smiling. If she wasn't still angered with him she would've matched his expression.

"Hii Mr. Desmond!" Harley spoke up, breaking the silence that followed his statement.

"Harley? Wow I haven't seen you in a long time. How have you been?"

"I know, it's such a shame," Robyn's eyes rolled at Harley's honest dissatisfaction in her tone, "but I'm good! Are-"

"I'll save you a seat at the bar," leaving the two, she shimmied her way through the small crowd of people and placed her clutch on the bar table while taking a seat on the stool.

Some time later, after Tyler left in a hurry, out of boredom and also from loosing track of wherever Harley disappeared to, Robyn ordered two more shots of vodka to help "Relax her mind and body," like she would say, just when a male figure sat on the free stool beside her.

Her eyes were glued to her phone, not even paying attention since most of her coworkers only saw her as a competition anyway. They mostly observed her from afar or chatted if they needed something from her. In her experience, they were practically all snobs, except for Tyler, he was nice.

"I wasn't planning on staying for long. That was till I spotted you. I was told you weren't going to be here."

She recognized that deep, enticing voice. Only after a couple of brief conversations, out and inside of work, it was a voice she grew to like for a reason or another.

Robyn shoved her phone back into her clutch slowly before she motioned her head in Dean's direction. He had a grin on his face. That same grin he wore on the first day the met.

"I wasn't going to attend, but I had a last minute change of plans. However, I am shocked you're here."

She swirled her full shot glass with a small smirk as she realized that he was visibly grilling her from head to toe.

Usually in this context, she would demand a level of respect in their "professional" relationship though, once again, she felt this weirdly nice feeling when he was around her and she couldn't seem to pinpoint why that was exactly. What she did know was that she enjoyed the feeling of someone looking at her, the way he had been.

They both enjoyed the casual flirting they had going on too..but what could it lead to?

"You know Robyn, I was serious about wanting to get to know you," he reminded.

"Dean-"

Anew, interrupting wherever this conversation was headed, Marcus grabbed everyone's attention, in the action of making a quick speech. Though, the two didn't even bother listening to him.

"Great," she mumbled before placing her second shot glass in his hand, "drink up."

His head bobbed to the side as he rose his thick eyebrows for a second before they both drank the shot with no hesitation.

"Vodka? I like a girl who can handle her liquor."

"Yeah whatever pretty boy, I'm sure you like a lot of things." Prior to shifting her sights onto Marcus who stepped off the small platform, she let out an adorable giggle. But it stopped abruptly when she caught his arm now locked around Naomi's petite waist while whispering something into her ear.

Dean caught onto her change in demeanour quickly. At the moment he tried to somewhat "help" the situation, Harley approached them.

"Hi, you must be Dean. I'm Harley, Robyn's friend and driver apparently," they shook hands casually while she beamed him a smile.

"Um, yeah, hey Harley. Dean Kingsley that is. We were just-"

"Lee, let's go." Out of the blue, Robyn hopped off the stool, snatching away her clutch in annoyance.

"Are you serious? We got here like forty minutes ago?" Harley whining like a child meant nothing to Robyn because she was ready to leave. And now.

"Fine. Stay. I'll take a cab. Bring my car back tomorrow." Not even bothering to say her farewells to her client, she practically stomped her way out of the bar.

Harley watched her leave with a confused expression written all over her face.

"What the-"

"It's Marcus," Dean added with a scratch at the back of his neck.

"What?" she looked at Dean who was staring at his gold watch before he stood and arranged the end of his jacket.

"Marcus. She looked at him then got angry."

"Why?"

"I'm assuming it has to do with the current position he's in with Naomi." His head nodded in their direction, signalling for Harley to look for herself.

"Shit. I'm gonna go catch her before her angry ass actually does get another ride. Sorry for the quick meet but I'm sure we'll meet again some other time!"

"I'm actually heading out too, just have to say goodbye to some acquaintances..the person I came for seems to have already left."
