Chapter 22

---- four months later----

Bella has gotten weaker. I have gotten bigger; I am four months pregnant. I am sitting an ultrasound when Bella screams.

"Bella's having her baby." Carlisle zooms out.

I wipe my belly off and I waddle down to the kitchen. There is Jasper, staying away from all the blood. I open the fridge and I eat some Funyons.

"How is the pregnancy?" Jasper asks.

"It's going fairly." I shrug.

Jasper tenses when he smells Bella's blood. I put my hand on his shoulder, which keeps him content until her heartbeat stops.

"She's dead." Jasper whispers.

I sigh as we walk outside. There is the pack. I put my hand on my belly wen Sam gives me apologetic eyes.

"Edward, Alice! Guys!" Jasper yells. 

Jasper puts me behind him in protection because he knows the pack will start trouble. The Cullen's are all out here soon enough; protecting me, Bella, and the baby. Jacob has went backs Sam, so has Seth and Leah.

They all begin to fight. Paul growls at me. Emmett knocks Paul back when he goes to attack me. A tear escapes my eye when Paul glares at my stomach. I place a hand on my belly and I feel the babies moving. Yes, baby's. I'm having twins. Two girls.

"Oh, and Paul, as much as you hate me now; we are having twins." I say smally before going inside.

Benjamin, from the Denali coven, is here visiting. He must have just arrived. He smiles at me and he touches my belly.

"Twins?" He gasps. "I wanna help. Come to Denali with me, my parents would love the babies."

"I have decided to stay here, Benjamin." I reply. "Thanks, anyways for the generous offer."

He nods. "Understood."

He leaves before the Cullen's come in. Carlisle brings me up to the office again and he does my ultrasound again. I see my girls in the screen, moving around.

"Looks like they're healthy, Layla." Carlisle says.

"Hey, Sam's here to see Layla." Rosalie says, coming in the room.

I sigh and I waddle behind her. Sam is standing at the main door, with his arms crossed.

"Hey. , LayLay." He greets. "We miss you."

"Not Paul,  evidently." I grumble. "The twins and I are better off here."

"Can you and one of the guys come get your stuff then?" He asks. "Paul has filed for divorce, too."

Emmett speaks. "I'll help you, Layla."

"So will I." Jasper speaks. "You kept me content during Bella's labor."

Rosalie hugs me and apologizes for Paul's stupidness. Emmett and Jasper walk with me to Jasper's truck. We drive to La Push.

Kim hugs me and she keeps cussing about Paul. 

"Carlisle won't mind you visiting." Jasper tells Kim. "They all know how close you two are."

Kim smiles at my large belly and she drops to her knees. She puts her hands on my belly.

"Oh, Kim." I say. "I'm having twins. Two girls."

She giggles and she kisses my belly. We walk inside and see most of my stuff done packed.

"Stupid vampire speed." I mutter.

Paul walks in wth Rachel clung to him. She smiles at me.

"When is the baby due?" She asks.

"The babies are due in five months." I reply.

"Twins?!" She gasps. "Can I rub your belly?" 

I laugh. "Yes, go ahead."

Paul lets me use his back to sign the papers whole Rachel talks to her firer step daughters.

"They can call you mama Rachel." I say lightly.

She smiles. "Okay, that's up to you , mama."

I smirk at her when I finish signing the papers that Paul still hasn't signed.

"Twins, wow." Paul mumble as he feels my belly. "What are you naming them?"

"Not sure, yet." I mumble. "They won't be here for another five months."

He bends down and talks to the girls. Sam smiles when my stuff is outside. I scoff and I waddle out. I sit in the passengers seat, putting Emmett on back with my stuff.

I walk up the stairs and see Renesme in Jacob's arms. He imprinted on Renesme.

"Can I hold her?" I ask him.

He nods and hands the baby to me. He talks to my belly and i talk to Renesme. Edward takes we when I grow tired. I walk up to my room where all my things are set up. I close my door before changing into some pajamas. I close my eyes and I let sleep take over.
