There was a loud bang coming from downstairs. I put down my paint brush, wiped off my hands and stood up. It was Sunday so I was enjoying the day away from my office. Harry was in LA for business. He is trying to wrap up his solo album soon. I'm so proud of him and can't wait for everyone to hear it. They are going to fall in love.
My phone started to ring as well. Shaking my head I chuckled. Funny how no one wanted my attention minutes ago but now I have someone at my door and phone.
"Hello," I answered
"Hey Yolanda, it's Chad."
"Oh hey, what's up?"
"Niki wanted to know if I could swing by in a few to pick up her red shoes you borrowed? She's won't have time to today since she's putting in extra hours and we have a date tonight," he asked.
Chad has grown on me. Took a few years but he has changed for the better and treats Niki great now. Plus he and Harry get along which makes it nice for double dating and what not.
"Sure, I'll be here. Harry's out of town so I have nothing going on."
"Ok, thanks. See you soon then," he said hanging up.
Rushing down the stairs I was wondering who it could be. Anne had left two days ago back to London.
I opened the front door to see a delivery man holding a box.
"Yolanda Garcia?" he asked.
"Uh yeah, that's me," I said looking puzzled, not sure what he was here for.
"I have a delivery for you," he handed me a clipboard. "Sign here please."
I look at the box trying to figure out what it could be.
"What is it?" I ask him still confused
"Don't know, Ma'am. I just need you to sign it."
Looking at the man further I noticed his uniform was basic with no logo or name tag, and I didn't see a company vehicle. I had an uneasy feeling. I was really regretting at this moment not allowing Harry to put up the locked, security gate he wanted but it cost thousands of dollars and I didn't think we needed it.
I went to hand him back the clipboard. I didn't order anything and Harry would have told me if he did. Before I sign for something though I wanted to check with him first just in case it slipped is mind.
