CHAPTER 4

"Your wife?" I said with my eyes opened wide with curiosity.

"Yes she left me a few months ago."

"Why did she leave?"

I knew why as left HE WAS AN INSANE VIOLENT HUMAN BEING

"She said that I wasn't good enough for her. She said she deserved better."

"Do you think she deserves better than you?"

Leonardo rises to his feet and says, "What do you mean by that?!"

"I mean you did kidnap an innocent person. Do you not think she wanted a normal husband?"

"All I want was to be good to her."

"She wouldn't have left if you were nice

and pleasant."

"That's why I needed you so I could start my life over."

I stopped breathing. I don't want to be his wife. I want to leave. NOW.

"Your not off to a good start now are you?" I said scared for what was going to happen to me.

"I promise not to hurt you anymore but I'm not letting you leave."

"Great."

"Glad we understand each other."

Why couldn't I have gone to a different high school? I would've been back home watching some Friday morning cartoons eating a poptart with my little brother whose four years old. My mom would be curling her hair and my dad would've been kissing us all on our foreheads telling us he loved us before he left for work. Little did I know when he kissed my forehead Thursday morning that would probably be the last time I heard my father tell me he loved me.

I wonder if anyone suspects I'm missing? Matt must at least.

Have the lights gone back on? Maybe.

I hope people are looking for me. It's a big school so probably not. Will everyone's lives just go back to normal as mine turns into a horror film?

"Your so beautiful."

I am caught off guard from my thoughts when I hear Leonardo say those words. I blush because no ones ever called me beautiful before not even Matt.

"Um - ah - thank you." I stutter

"I never told Angela she was beautiful."

"Angela?"

"My wife who left to go somewhere far away from me."

"Oh, right."

"I always thought she was beautiful and kind and funny but I never told her."

"She would've loved to her those complements."

"That's why I'm telling you,"

I hear a phone ring in the kitchen.

Leonardo quickly gets up and goes to the kitchen to answer it.

"Hello."

"No, this is Leonardo."

"And who am I speaking to?"

"Nice to meet you."

"Im at my house."

"Yes."

As Leonardo continues to talk to the person I just wish I could hear the other end of the call.

I lean in closer to the kitchen to try to distinguish what the person on the other line is saying.

Leonardo stops my curiosity when he walks in front of me with my phone in his hand saying my mother wants to talk to me.
