CHAPTER 6

I opened the door to a breath taking scene. I saw face to face a girl that looked exactly like me.

My stomached turned and felt like I was going to puke. This must be his wife. He never said where she went this must be where.

She was in a cage taking up the entire small closet she only had enough room to stand. When I looked up at her her brown eyes widened. Her hands and legs were tied up as mine used to be.

Why isn't she speaking or screaming?

"Angela?" I asked wondering if this is Leonardo's wife.

The girl continues to stand still and looks as if she's about to speak but doesn't.

"Why are you in here? How are you alive? Why aren't you speaking?"
Still nothing.

"Excuse me miss? I'd love some help I can help you get out of here."

As I said those last few words, live brightened up her eyes. She opened her mouth and I understand why she couldn't speak.

She had no tongue.

I gasped at the sight. I wasn't sure how to communicate with her.

"Can you just nod your head for yes and shake your head for no?"
She nodded her head.

"Are you Angela?"

She shook her head. Then who is she?
I had so many questions for her but I needed more than a nod or shake to answer them.

"I'm going to hurry back to Leonardo so he doesn't suspect anything. Ill do my best to get us both out of her okay?"

I saw tears rolling down her face a she nodded and smiled at me.

I felt bad shutting the door on the unknown girl who somehow looks exactly like me and Leonardo's wife ... What if that happens to me?

I hurried back to my room and Leonardo's still in the kitchen cooking away.

I think I'm becoming numb to the pain in my legs because it's bearable to walk now.

"I'm going to go wash some of the blood of my face okay?" I asked

"Sure that's fine lunch will be ready in 20 minutes."

I opened a few drawers in the room and found a piece of paper and a pen.

I grabbed that and reached for one of the sharpest glass shards on the floor. He said 20 minutes. That should be enough time.

I silently walked down the hall careful not the make the boards creak. I went into Leonardo's room and opened the closet door.

When the girl saw me her mouth formed into a nice smile. I saw the lock on the cage and searched through the drawers in his room.

I wasted about 5 minutes doing so until I finally found them. I wasted no time open the door.

The girl was overly joyed when she could finally sit down. I wonder how long she's been standing in there.

I grabbed the piece of glass and cut the ropes around her hands. She moved them around frantically but it made me laugh at how excited she was just to stretch her arms. I asked if we could write and she nodded. I handed her the paper and pen.

"Who are you?"

She wrote: "I'm Alex. I was kidnapped by Leonardo at my school several weeks ago.

I was taken back by her answer. I'm going to end up in a cage.

"Why are you in a cage in a closet?"

She wrote: "I told him I didn't want his meal he prepared for me. I'm a vegetarian and he gave me steak. He told me he'd yank out my tongue if I continued to refuse. I thought he was joking so I said it again."

"Then what happened?" I asked in fear.

She wrote: "He tied up my hands and feat. He carried me in his arms to this closet which already had a cage in it I don't know why but I was shoved in it."

"So he ripped out your tongue then?"

She wrote: "Yes. I'd rather don't share the gruesome details but there was cutting involved and more blood than I could have imagined."

"I'm so sorry, Alex. I have to actually go eat now actually before I get caught here. I'm sorry agian but I need for you to stand up and act like your hands are tied together I have to close the cage and door in case he come in here. I'll be back I promise."

I hurried back into the kitchen. A few minutes later I was served my lunch made by Leonardo. I'm looking at a fresh T-bone steak. I gasp when I see it and quickly take a bite so I can keep my tongue.

"Do you like steak?"

"OF COURSE!" I say nervously and a little too loud.

"That's great!"

"Mmhm."

Leonardo walks back in the kitchen. I finish my steak and walk to put it in the sink with the thousands of other dirty dishes. Leonardo's not in the kitchen.

I begin to breath heavier and heavier as the possibility of him being in his room and discovering alex's untied hands.

I heard a door open. Oh no.

It sounds like a paper was crumbled.

Leonardo yelled and yelled. I heard a large thud against something as I stand still, panicked of what events have just occurred.
