CHAPTER 11
"Your Leonardo's son?" I asked in bewilderment
"Mmhm. He stuck me here to hide me from the freaky girl."
"The freaky girl?"
"Yeah the girl in that small room who walks around on her hind legs. She makes weird noises a lot."
Who on earth is he talking about? Is there another girl?
"Who?!"
"You know she's in that room over all the creepy bodies."
There's a room in the room of the bodies? ... None of this make any sense. I want to know more about this whole situation.
"What happened to your legs?" I decided to bravely ask.
"I was born without them. I learned to walk with prosthetics."
"Oh. Well where are your prosthetics now?"
"The crazy girl in that small room yanked them from my legs last week."
"Why did you go visit her anyways?"
"I knew Molly before she went crazy. I've known all my daddy's girlfriends actually. I just went down to visit Molly and I realized quickly something was way off. She crawled over to me and yanked them right off my legs."
"Then what happened?!" I said leaning forward very curious of this bizarre story.
"I of course fell to the ground and started screaming because I couldn't move. She then started to bite me. It was really strange. I tried to get away but couldn't until my dad bursted through the door. He then brought me in here and locked the door. My dad said that I'd be safe in here and that he'd visit me all the time which he never does but about 4 times a day to feed me and help me get on the toilet."
"Oh. That sounds awful. Do you not go to school? I mean like what do you do all day trapped in here?"
"No I don't go to school anymore. And all I do is sleep and have nightmares of Molly and all the other girls in front of her room. I've met all those girls who are dead there but I don't know how they died."
Just as I was about to answer I faintly hear the garage go up.
"I'll check on you soon okay! I gotta go upstairs. If your dad asked i was never here okay?" I asked very nervously
"Okay."
I sprint to my room and get in the covers as fast as possible.
As I try to control my heaving breathing from running so fast Leonardo walks through the door.
"Hey! I'm back with a tv and brownies."
Yesssss! I now have cable!
"Oh hey! I just woke up from my nap!" I said as I get up from my "nap".
I walk into the kitchen to help with the tv setup. I eagerly unwrap the big box holding the 40 inch television.
There's so many wires here.
Leonardo picks up the tv and places it on one of the high shelves on the wall of my room directly in front of the bed.
Perfect.
I sort out all the wires tied together in the box and try to figure out where everything goes. I know one goes into the cable box and several have to go into the actual tv and some go into the wall. But I have absolutely no idea which ones go in those spots.
This feels like brain surgery.
Leo steps in and takes over my struggle with the chords. In less then like twenty seconds he has everything plugged in and is already using the remote to turn it on.
When in an instant a clear picture came up with the sound of beautiful tv shoes came on I felt overwhelmed with happiness. I know I shouldn't be happy being trapped in this place but honestly right now all feels right!
We both plop down on the edge of the bed as Leonardo starts flipping through channels. He comes across The Human Centipede. I always thought that movie was gross and creepy but now I feel like I'm living it. No I'm not attached to anyones butt or anything ... Yet.
Luckily in the midst of my terrifying thoughts Leo changes the channel to HBO where The Pink Panther was on.
"Do you have any pop corn here?" I asked.
"Ugh no I don't. Well I can run by the store again super fast since you obviously didn't leave when I left a few minutes ago."
"That would be great."
Leo got up and walked out the door for the second time today. The car engine revved and the garage door went up.
I took the few precious minutes I had to see if there was really someone in that room by the bodies.
I quickly run down the steps of the room in the kitchen. As I slowly stepped around the bodies I saw a big metal door.
How did I not see this before? Am I legally blind? Yes, yes I am.
I hesitate before I open the door thinking back to John's description of her violence.
My curiosity got the best of me. I pulled at the handle preparing for a freaky girl but the door was locked. Leonardo must have the key.
I run back up the steps not wanting to be caught down here by Leo and getting hurt again. I take my seat on the bed getting all comfortable in the covers watching The Pink Panther. After about 5 minutes of watching the movie in peace, Leo walks in the door.
How close is that store?
"I'm baaaaack." He said in a really cheesy voice.
"Great. Put in the popcorn!"
Leonardo places the popcorn package in the microwave. I sit listening to the movie and the popping of the popcorn.
The microwave beeps signaling it's completely done. Leo takes it out and opens the bag as steam bursts through the opening. The delicious smell of the buttery popcorn takes over my senses. When he hands me the bag I can't help but get a huge handful and shove it in my mouth.
We sit on my bed for a couple of hours silently watching The Pink Panther while eating all the popcorn. As the movie comes to an end so does the popcorn. All that's left is the pesky little kernels that aren't somewhat edible.
Leonardo picks up the remote again and begins to flip through the channels. After about ten minutes of that. I have come to the conclusion that around lunch time absolutely nothing is on. We both settle on just watching the plain ole news. I guess it wouldn't be too bad to catch up on the latest issues of California.
"Do you want some soup?" Leo asked as he walked into the kitchen.
"Sure, why not?"
He places two cans of soup into two separate bowls and slides them into the microwave.
A minute later Leonardo sits back down handed my a bowl of steaming hot chicken noodle soup. We both eat silently watching the news.
Just as Leo was about to get up the tv announced :
AMBER ALERT MISSING CHILD-
MISS MARY JONES HAD BEEN
MISSING TWO DAYS NOW.
PLEASE CALL THIS LINE IF SHE IS SEEN
My face goes pale my whole body tenses.
My mom must've reported it to the police when I told her over the phone yesterday.
Leonardo looks at me as if I'm about to die.
